I was having withdrawls from my new addiction so I did a little online shopping this weekend and ended picking up this Pre-model 10, 5 screw..... Shown with the other two in my small but growing collection.... Mod 18-3, 36 nodash.... Im trying to add one every month...spent a bit of time polishing the Pre10 today and I must say it cleaned up quite well... With a SN# of C 3386xx am I correct that it was made around 1955??? I am still very new at this stuff. Picked it for $450.... This stuff is fun... Have a nice day guys....

The Catalog says # C277,555 was from '54 and # C402,923 from '56, so it's right in there.

Ha! This is what I tell myself as well, however when I need to make a withdrawl, it is one of the most difficult choices to make because I love them all like children

Did someone take a file to the front sight? I'm thinking it is suppose to be a half moon shape. My five screw front sight was reconfigured as well. I may be incorrect about that detail though. I don't have my S&W book in front of me.

In 1952 the front sight was changed from round blade to a ramp. I agree with chadster01 that the front sight is correct on this model 10.
