I may be buying an AM 15; includes two mags, a scope and a laser. Plus some ammo, maybe ten rounds. Probably the case it’s in, too. I know nothing about the brand. I shot the gun maybe 5 or 10 shots. Only 50 yards but I hit the target. I never knew how easy the 5.56 was to shoot. Anyhow, it’s $550. Anything negative or positive would be appreciated.

I've never seen/heard/experienced any negative issues with Anderson Mfg. AR rifles. In fact, I have an AR with an AM that lower that I use as a truck gun that works just fine. Assuming you're considering the basic Carbine 5.56/.223 model? For $550 w/extras I don't think you could go wrong.

The Anderson Manufacturing AM 15 is an entry level carbine that can be purchased new around here for under $400.00. You don’t say what brand and model the scope is, PMAGs are $10.00 each. I personally would prefer to purchase a brand new rifle and choose my own optic.

If you are planning on HALO jumping into the middle of a Third World Nation and fighting your way to the border you would probably want a higher tier firearm. If you plan on plinking, hunting, T&E an unfamiliar platform then the Anderson should serve you well.

Found this, hope it helps. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjqbvFXczio[/ame]

Jeffrefrig, to bad I did not know you when I was stationed in Pittsburgh. Had access to "Toys".

I don't believe you can go wrong with the Anderson brand. I chose their upper and lower receivers for a AR-15 build and I got excellent results. I think their quality control is excellent and the brand is underrated.

Thanks for the video! Dude has a perfect beard! Was the Hunt Armory still in use back then? I think that’s used for some movie scenes now, or whatever.

I appreciate the replies. I don’t know the scope manufacturer nor the laser thing underneath. The guy is my daughter’s live in partner so I don’t mind helping him out. Heck, I gave him one of those LEO S&W 40 caliber pistols last Christmas. It looked unused, almost. Of course the one I got for me was well used. Nice little guns.

I have two ARs I built on Anderson lowers.
They work just fine, though $550 for one seems a little high to me.
But I built both of mine for around $350 apiece - 3 or 4 years ago - before the economy went into the dumper.

No, we had offices on CMU's campus. Next to the Bureau of Mines Blg next to Panther Hollow Bridge.

I added a complete Anderson lower to a 300 BO upper (Somebodies dream build) and wound up with a pretty nice AR on the cheap. The trigger is so much better than any other AR that I played with!

My Anderson lower has a Palmetto State Armory blem
M4 classic upper on it. Runs well in the bad lands. NO
complaints with it. They are very good for the price.

I've got one made by Hellenbak. It goes pew pew pew every time I pull the trigger and is fine for what I now use an AR for-to stand in the corner and collect dust. My days of HALO operations are long over and mostly I just give advise and direct missions from the bunker. These missions are vital to national security and when they go as planned, nobody ever hears about them. When they don't, like with the Israelis' little screw up this past week with the collateral damage, I have enough of a buffer that the blame gets shortstopped-this time with Bibi.

I've owned a couple and they functioned just as well as the Colt or other brands I've owned. But I just use them to plink and kill a varmint every once in a while. I don't call my self an "operator" or pretend that I'm getting ready to fight zombies, terrorists, or a government insurrection. Go on some of the forums that cater more to that type and you'll read they're complete junk and you're taking your life in your own hands even just owning one.
