Manufacturing date for British S&W clone

New member and first time poster.

I am looking at buying an antique revolver and need some help determining the manufacturing date. I live in Canada so it has to be manufactured before January 1, 1898 for me to bring it here.

Here’s the description:

British Smith & Wesson Double-Action Revolver Clone; ca.1899 Production/Commercial Sales; Barrel: 5" Octagon; Capacity: Six Rounds .455 Webley/.450 Boxer/.476 Enfield; S/N: 44

Good pictures showing all markings will help. Why do you mention clone? Is it Spanish? During WWI the British did use some Spanish-made revolvers. In that case, it is unlikely that anyone here can help you in establishing an accurate date. See: Spanish Revolvers for England – LAI Publications
