I bought a well used nickel Model 19-4 snub a couple years ago. It came from a dealer who sells seized firearms, and has case file numbers engraved on it. Also, I found it had a Model 66 stainless barrel on it when I got it home....maybe a cracked forcing cone? Who knows...it is a gun with history, but it isn't talking.
Anyway, I noticed it was getting a bit of a carry-up issue, and a little end shake. Had a couple failures to fire with some brands of ammo.
But it did shoot nice...very accurate.
I asked here about S&W smiths in the Cleveland area, and got some answers...but nobody mentioned Andy Horvath. Found out he is about 30min from my driveway.
Called him up, and he said to bring it by.
Went there this morning and got to meet the gentleman.
He seems like a good, old time craftsman. His shop looks as comfortable as an old pair of jeans.
He looked over my Model 19 and quickly diagnosed the things he will address.
It was an honor to meet him, and considering the fine custom revolvers he is known for, an honor to have him do the simple repairs my Smith needed.

I want Andy to make a 32 long out of a k-22 for me. Hope to have him at the next S&W meeting I hold in North Olmsted in May. Said it sounds real interesting. Anyone is welcome to attend. Food is great. Usually abt 60 people attend, hoping for more. Watch the lounge after Mar 1st for the details. Great time, Larry
