ANIB 19-2

I'm still looking for one, just because I am looking for one . No niche to fill. Just can't seem to justify the expense:)

In order to curb my buying much anything that strikes my fancy I have been trying to concentrate on just 19-2's in each length and finish. Key word in that sentence was "trying".:D

Yes, I'm thinking we need some pics of this treasured piece with the round butt. I do have a couple of dash 2's. The SB 6" is a dream to shoot; the snubby - well, no one knows :) I have a well shot -4 snub that is also a pleasure so I have a pretty good idea. Congratulations on your find.

Kudos to you ! …. As a collector, I've had the good fortune to acquire several over the years in both blue and stainless.

At age 18, more than 50-years ago, I'd purchased a 19-2 brand new from my local gun-shop. The round butt fitting my hand perfectly.

Living in central Massachusetts, fired-up my 1962 Ford Galaxy and somehow made it all the way to Springfield and the S&W home.

Traveling up a long and impressive approach, parked in front … the only vehicle in front of what might be an aircraft factory or a palace.

Entering a huge set of double doors, arrived in a large hall. A very well dressed, all business, gentleman greeted me and inquired as to the reason for my visit.

Explained that I wanted a 6-inch barrel on the finest handgun I'd ever had …. The Gentleman asked if I'd wait in the hall and disappeared into the factory.

After a very short wait, he returned with my 19 in a new box that accommodated a new 6-inch barrel with my original two-and-one-half carefully wrapped.

Thrilled … I offered to pay any amount and was refused.

My old Ford brought me home and I've enjoyed 50-plus years for great shooting with my Model-19 …. A 55-Gallon Drum at a hundred yards easy pickings for my faithful friend.

Best regards to all …..

Welcome to the forum.
FYI: We like pics and without them, it never happened... ;)

I've wanted a 19 snubby since I saw my first one in a TG&Y store back in the late 70s. To me it's almost like the K frame guns are perfectly proportioned with the shorter barrels.
