Picked up another .327 Federal Magnum. A Ruger LCR this time. This is my third revolver in this caliber. Loaded with Speer 100 grain GDHP ammo, believe this is an effective carry revolver. Will become my new CCW when a new holster arrives. Know there are other .327 Federal Magnum Fans here too!

These are nice revolvers. The only thing i would want to change is the grips. The factory grip in my case is too grabby for concealed holster wear and too big for pocket carry. The top finger cut on the factory grip makes my handhold very low. The way it is formed is not high enough.

I purchased a Hogue Bantam and found it to feel like a snow cone.
By cutting/carving/whittling and sanding the Bantam grip just under the trigger guard...essentially cutting a finger grove down to plastic.....the grip really improved. It is OK but not wonderful. I purchased a Badger fingerless grip (black walnut) and do believe I will keep this combo.

To further enlighten you with my knowledge, beware that the HKS 32-J speedloader is not labeled for the LCR and does not work. 5Star makes one that is labeled for the LCR 327. Good luck.

I do believe, or hope I should say, that the .327 Fed Mag catches on more than it has. My recent acquisition of the 6" GP-100 in stainless with rubber Hogues is far from winning any beauty contest, but it is a blast to shoot. Literally! It has plenty of power and barely jumps when I shoot it with the 100 gr. bullet. I've not shot the H & R Magnum yet, but the .32 long feels like a .22 LR from my S&W Masterpiece. I don't know the model no. but I'd bet S&W's revolver was nicer looking. I've handled a couple of the lighter Rugers in this caliber but I'd like to shoot one before purchase. That LCR in the OP's pic looks like a nice carry piece. Sixgun100, how does that feel to shoot compared to your other two? I really like the looks of your blued Single 7.

I shot the LCR a couple of days ago with Federal 85 grain SP. Recoil was similar to the LCR in .38 Special, but you gain the extra round and more effectiveness in the .327 Federal. The Single Sevens shoot easier due to their size and design. Once I get the Henry Carbine, my .327 Federal Magnum set will be complete!

Count me in as a .327FM fan. I had an LCR and loved the trigger on it. Traded it in a deal I couldn't refuse. That's ok...not one of those unobtainium guns you'll forever kick yourself for getting rid of. Right now, all I have is an SP101 in .327; pleasure to shoot, but I wish it had as nice of a DA trigger as the LCR. I'll get another LCR sooner or later. Great carry piece. I pocket carried it and IWB'd it in Mika holsters made for the J frame.

I've been wanting one of the blackhawks for a long time, but they are rare and when I do find one, I am not in a position to grab it. Color me jealous!

Believe it or not I picked it up at a local live auction for just over $400 a couple of years ago. I have old Ruger Blackhawk .357 and have always liked shooting it so I just figured, why not?!?
One thing about SA, don't blow thru ammo near as fast!

Thanks, it came with black micarta grips, but I switched them for the wood Gunfighter/Slim grips that come on Single Tens. Think the wood and blue look better, plus the slim grips fit my hand better, as well.

Badge130 very nice video. Thanks for sharing!

Ruger LCR in 327 mag is hell on wheels to shoot with full load mags. You need double ears, strong wrists, and a double ego to enjoy the punishment. Guns weighs less than a pound, mags are pushing 1200 or more FPS!
No fun for sure. As a carry gun, you must consider the consequences of actually firing it. Couldn't imagine that inside a small space or vehicle, as it WILL f your ears up. Amazingly powerful.
For carry I dropped to 32 H&R mag ammo, a step down yet devastating!

I have been thinking about picking up a 3" SP101 in .327 Fed magnum. Only two things are holding me back:

1) It looks like ammo is made out of "unobtanium" these days, and
2) Already owning a 6-shot 3" Kimber K6S, I don't know what role this will play. The Kimber is close in size to the Ruger, they both hold 6 rounds, I can dial down to .38 +P for recoil mitigation, but also preserve the ability to shoot full-house .357's.

I have used several words to describe my accumulation. Role was not one of them. I read this all the time when a discussion of NEED appears.

If I was limited to only having a single gun to fill a role, I would empty my vault.

How many roles are there:
Defense
Hunting
Competition
Plinking
Display
???

So does anyone advocate that I only NEED 5 guns?
And being candid, I don't play defense, I don't hunt, I don't compete, and I don't display. I assume that means I only need one gun.

Of my gawd, this is a horrible thought. I'm starting to shake.

Prescut :)
Thanks Sistema; that was an interesting mental exercise.

Gunbot lists a ton of it, and I bet Buffalo Bore has their pet loads in stock. My LGS carries it, and I bet it's some of the few self-defense ammos still on the shelf during the current crisis.

Update on the LCR in .327 Federal Magnum. Been carrying it daily in a Simply Rugged Rig. Working out great!!

Very nice! I'm carrying a 4" M29 in a very used but otherwise very similar Sourdough Pancake as I type this!
