Another dumb question

I have just purchased a S&W M&P Sport and was wondering if I could attach a carry handle and sight combination and do it myself w/o a gunsmith. Price is also a consideration since I am retired and on a fixed income. I would welcome suggestions of good dealers where I won't get taken. No sales tax and low shipping are also a plus. Thanks....

That's just about as easy of a modification as you can do to a flat top AR. Here's one of many ways to go. There are others that are cheaper; you just have to do some looking.

I have used a UTG carry handle for years and it is top notch. Much cheaper also. They do add a distinctive look to the rifle. There are many videos on You Tube on how to zero the Mil Spec sights, which are very nice to work with.

I bought a used Colt carry handle with the standard 2 hole flip sights and standard adjustments for elevation and windage on Ebay for about $31.00 plus I think $6.00 shipping. It was in fine shape and just needed a cleaning to get the dust off and a squirt with some flat black spray paint to look new. It attached right on top after I removed the Magpul flip sight with the two screws that it comes with, and it hasn't moved since and works great!
