Went to the range yesterday (my usual day) late in the afternoon. Usually there is no one else or maybe one or two.

It is a private range (nothing fancy, a locked gate in the woods)

We have 3 shooting bays, two are rifle, one is around 50-60 yards, one is 100 yards and then the pistol range which is 25 yards.

So I get to the pistol range and there is some Dillweed with a 12 gauge pump with his target set at 10 yards! (PVC pipes in the ground to hold your sticks)

He is pumping and blasting a piece of cardboard. I mean you think you can hit it? Almost as bad as the other idiot who was shooting his AR15 with a scope on another day, doing the same thing.

I wanted o test some new reloads I am experimenting with. No way I am standing anywhere near this guy.I turned around and went to the short rifle range and walked out to 20 yards from the berm. It was a nice day and not hot so didn't need to be under the roof to get out of the Sun.

You dont suppose he might have just been pattering his shotgun? Maybe the AR guy just put on the scope and wants to at least get it on paper the first shot or two then back off. Maybe I am too trusting and nieve? I have been at times, but many more times I was right.

Maybe they just can't see very well or something? I have very good luck with my 12 ga. @ 10 yards, if I use the improved cylinder choke anyways.

I really like to see big holes and a lot of distruction going on, but maybe I'm strange because I just like to break things. I like to shoot sheet disks on a post just to watch them shatter. Quess I'm more of a spray and pray as opposed to one shot every 10 minutes kind of guy. Doeboy

Sure anything is possible, but they could do it at the two rifle bays and not the handgun. I have seen the AR guy a few times. He puts up silhouette targets.

A group of AR guys were at the range last time I was there. During a break on the pistol range (there is a nice, long rifle range next to it that they apparently didn't want to use), they went out and put a bunch of bright orange clays out on the berm (50 yards). Then they taped balloons to every target frame out on the range that wasn't already in use. When we returned to firing, they pulled up their scoped, super fancy ARs and proceed to miss about everything they shot at. They finally managed to pop most of the balloons, but never did hit any of the clays.
