Another J frame

Lately, the J frames have been finding a new home with me. I picked this up Friday, yes, at my favorite Pawn Shop. It's a 640-3 357, and appears to have been fired very little. I put a set of targets on and liked the looks and feel. Then I dug a little deeper in the grip box and found these Badgers, which I like a bit better. I hope to take it to the range this week, if it stops raining. Have a great Labor Day all.

The grips in the 3rd pic are my favorite looking on the 640. Did you get a good deal?

I can't shoot .357 Magnum anymore, but I love the 640's. That looks like a nice one.

I'm in Louisville too, but haven't visited any pawn shops in years. Do you ever do business with Bob Goranflo at the Oakwood? I've bought a number of guns from Bob. I've found his prices fair, and he himself is knowledgeable and helpful. He's a retired LEO--used to fly helicopters for the old Jefferson County PD, before the merger.

I realize you did ask me, but I like the banana targets. I have a very nice set on my 36 no dash. Feel good to me. I have never shot a J frame with .357 & not so sure I want to! Enjoy your find! Bob

I too like the targets and might switch them around at the range. As for a steady diet of 357, not. It will be 38 & 38+P. Also, the 640 was such a good deal that I could not pass it up. To shouldazagged, I have met Bob several times at the Oakwood. He sold it a few years back and the new owner just shut it down recently. Bob has always been very informative and an all around great guy, and I call him from time to time to chat and I usually have a few questions about a Smith.

You can go to the website and order direct from Jim Badger, I think that's his name. I bought mine from a forum member. Also, ebay has several for sale from time to time.
