Another Model 36 just can't help it

One of my buddies is selling a bunch of guns for a widow. He showed up yesterday with more guns than he could carry in one trip. Most of them aren't much. I bought this 3" HB Model 36 for no reason. I need it like a hole in the head.

It has a very well done front sight insert that looks factory but it's not. Very light turn line, no ghosts on the recoil shield. On time and tight. Too good to pass up for $300 even with the "unique" grips with a bear carved on both sides.

I guess I can keep it for trade bait. I wish I had better impulse control when it comes to Smiths but I guess I will just have to live with myself.

I like it. The grips are unique. Kinda like "Folk Art." I like the heavy barrel. And the red insert work looks good.

I'm glad someone can understand the struggle I have been living with all these years. It's tough. I know it is going to happen again before long ;^)

They say India on the back so they are aftermarket. I guess I will have to find a guy whose nickname is Bear to sell them to

If you want to sell me a gun just lay out a 3 in barreled J-frame. Nice gun and very nice price, good job.

I'm in Memphis. So far this week I passed up:

cherry 2" nickel Model 36 $300 (was preying on my mind though)

Black T finished good 6" Model 29 $400 (if it was only a 4"!)

good 4" Model 10 $225 (already have a 4", 3", and 2")

plus other non Smiths and numerous long guns

Did buy the 3" Model 36 and a old model Ruger Bearcat for $200

I have lived here a long time and know everybody so the phone rings a lot. I try to restrain myself. I want a 4" 629 and just missed one in the classifieds. I keep telling myself one day I will find my 4" 629 Mountain Gun. If I just had back all the stuff I've sold...............
