Why are people going so crazy over 22 ammo? Why can't the ammo makers keep up with the demand? I have been trying to find some 22 lr's for awhile now and can't find any anywhere. No one locally or on the internet has any.

Because people are buying tens of thousands of rounds at a time. Because ammo manufacturers gear up their machines for a run of specific caliber/s then switch and make different calibers. You dont think they actually make all their calibers at the same rime?

Some of it is because in a buying panic some folk cannot leave a store without something. They may not even have a .22, but they will buy the ammo. It's a mental thing, and those same people will look at YOU as the crazy guy when you tell them you will not partake in the lunacy.

Think ahead

Howdy,
I don't mean to be critical of anyone posting, but those who bought ahead or in large amounts have ammo now as opposed to those who don't.
I'd advise that when things get better maybe buy and set a little back when you can for hard times.
Good luck
Mike

I found some .22 ammo I like for sale before the latest panic.
Acquired enough to last for the rest of the year, and maybe some of
next year. I had decided to standardize on the type because one of my rifles requires plated bullets. It also shoots well in most of my other
.22s. Last time my daughter and her husband came up to shoot
they made serious inroads in my supply.

Still it's not as much as I bought at a time when my son was shooting
Bullseye matches on a local team. Then I bought a case a year
and a few other boxes, here and there, for him to use.

That's what I did and kind of feel bad about not offering any to those who have
contacted me wanting to know where they can get some, .22 that is. ;)

I know as soon as I offer some the possibility exists that they might
tell someone else, "I know where you can get some." :(

Ordered some shorts in CB to shoot in doors from Cheaper than Dirt. Took two weeks to get it.

Fixed that. ;)

I've been picking off an occasional private party deal or mega sale deal for the last four years.

And I still want MOAR! :D
