Another old computer scam redux

This is an oldie going back over 10 years, but perhaps some of you may not know of it. It can be extremely dangerous to your computer. I am posting this only because I have received four such identical calls this week. It's a robocall informing me that I am due to receive a $399 refund from my "computer security company" (I don't have a computer security company) but the scam could involve numerous other pretext scenarios. The robocaller requests you hit "1" to be connected with a "computer technician" who will handle the refund. I hit "1" and the person answering had a deep Indian accent, straight out of Mumbai. He explains that to get the $399 refund I must fill out a special form on their website. He goes on to say that I must hit the "Windows" and "R" buttons on my computer keyboard simultaneously, which will bring up the "Run" box, then to enter something in the run box which will take me to their website and bring up the "refund" form. Of course, it will do nothing of the sort, but it will somehow give them remote access to your computer and unleash a cargo of malware into it, which you must pay the caller to have removed. Of course I didn't do it, I just wanted to see what the scam involved, and to have some fun with the scammer. Best to never answer such calls, and never ever enter anything they tell you to enter in the Run box.
