Another Prayer Request +UPDATED+

I just read this and am sorry for her uncalled for suffering. Prayers for her release from pain and speedy recovery.
As for the " dentist"? He should suffer the same so he never does it again.

Make a complaint with the Kentucky Dental Board. In a case like this, Boards have the power to immediately suspend a license to protect the public. Next see a good Plaintiff's attorney that does dental malpractice. Take photographs of her condition while in the hospital and recovering.

My father in law is a Deacon in the Catholic church . I asked him to say a mass for your niece . Also , he will have her included in prayers from everyone he knows , including my wife and I .

UPDATE:

Teresa is at home, and improving. The hospital here elected not to do additional surgery. Yesterday a terrible abscess in her jaw burst and drained, which gave her considerable relief. She's still exhausted, weak, sick and unable to eat much; but on the whole, the situation is better.

As soon as she is well enough she will begin the process of nailing the oral surgeon's pelt to the barn door. I know what this woman is like when she's really angry, and the quack will think he was hit by a cruise missile.

I can't thank all of you enough for your prayers and encouragement. She asked me to express her gratitude you wonderful folks.

Mike, I am glad to hear that she is improving. I can't imagine the misery she is forced to endure because of someone else.

I have never been a "pound of flesh" kind of guy but I hope she gets an ounce.......or twelve.

Mike, I'm glad she is doing better.

Doug's advice above is exactly what I was going to suggest. There are red flags waving all over the place in this. I don't know about Kentucky, but in North Carolina, filing a complaint with the licensing board does not affect the injured party's ability to start a malpractice action in court.

Nobody should have to endure the pain, suffering, and expense of this kind of negligence without the practitioner (actually, his insurance company) having to answer for it.

I am curious: did she know ahead of time that he intended to perform the surgery without anesthesia?

PRAYERS & CONDOLENSES SENT.

As to the "SADISTIC SURGEON", IMO he was in WAY over his head from the git go. General anesthesia is dangerous enough in itself & ONLY to be performed by an anesthesiologist in a hospital setting. Be glad he didn't attempt it, & he was honest enough to state he would not do it! Add the facts that the mouth is the bodies cesspool & she already had a raging infection. Without doing a culture & sensitivity test ( to identify what type of infection it was & what meds if any & not necessarily antibiotics might work, a pet peeve of mine) NO CUTTING would have been my thought. There will always be some hack willing to do anything from basement face/booty/boob jobs, to a dental surgery like your nieces, for a buck. A hospital is where she belongs & the fact she was young & healthy prior to this is a plus. The "surgeon" HOPEFULLY was able to numb her out to a great degree during his "operation" that IMO he should not have attempted. A good lawyer with medical experience might deserve a consultation. AGAIN IMO energy will be better spent with positive thoughts for your niece than negative finger pointing at "the bad guy". There will be time for that later. Best wishes & knee mail sent. Mods how about a praying hands smilie/icon?
