I have had the good fortune of picking up a few RM's lately - Some very nice and some that had been used a bit. I also have had a lot of fun recently with my wife's camera and have been playing around with it, so here are a few photos of a RM that used to be 8.75", has been cut to 5" and still has some damage to the barrel:(. The date that this gun shipped has some family significance and was enough to tip the scales on the purchase price that the seller asked [see update on page 2].

This is the Tucson gun that you asked about...

Alright Richard now stop already...youre gonna make me want one of these and I can barely support my 44 magnum habit.

Personally I'd rather have it as a 5" than the 8.75"

Perhaps some day.

Rick,

I like it, and the original finish is great, I knew it woud clean up real nice. so I'm glad you got it. I was watching the auction.

I'm like Curtis, it would be nice if it wasn't cut, but the 5" look is great.

I like them all, but I'm come to the conclusion that:Ns look best with a 5", Ks look best with a 4",and Js, a 3".

Another nice RM! I do like the stocks ... are they from Keith Brown? Also, any information about the ship date or history would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jerry

A Little more color...

Jerry:

The grips are Keith Browns. The revolver was shipped in May 1937 to Paso Robles Merchantile in Paso Robles, CA and shipped with 8.75" barrel, magnas, a McGivern Front sight and a deep U notch rear. Sighted for 75 yards with magnum ammo. I have a factory letter... [see updated informaton on Page 2]

Damn nice gun Rick. It's a little big for you isn't it? Soo much larger than a Combat Magnum. Get that barrel fixed and shoot it.
Good luck on the next one.

The gun is nice, but the provenance catches my eye. In 1937 Paso Robles was a semi-remote agricultural community with a population of less than 3000. If a top of the line gun with upgraded sights went there, especially if sighted in for what I consider a long distance, I am guessing it was a special order by a local rancher.

I think it is grossly unfair that you have all these fine RMs and I don't have any. Isn't there somebody I can vote for who would redistribute the assets so everybody in America could have at least one of them?

UPDATE

Upon a closer review, I found that the factory letter that came with the gun, was one digit off on the REG number, which in Reg Mag's is what Roy uses to prepare the letter and provide the relevant information. So... the shipping and configuration information above is for REG 2202 and most likely has no family significance:(. So if you have REG 2202, I have your letter.

So Richard, it sounds like you are about to invest another $50. Let us know where and when and how that nice one actually DID ship.

But it is also possible that Roy made a typo in the letter. I'd make a call to him first.

Bob

Richard, I'll bet you my cut barreled Iver Johnson against your RM, that Roy made a typo and the letter info is correct for the gun! Ed #15

Well Richard, look at the bright side. You just won Ed's high dollar cut barrel Iver Johnson. Let's see a picture when you receive it:cool:
