Another sad day for LE

My heart and prayers go out to the family and colleagues of Officer Santiago. We just laid to rest the latest Indianapolis Metro Police Officer killed in the line of duty this past Friday. In honor of Officer Renn and Officer Santiago, I'd like to share these words I heard spoken during Officer Renn's funeral ceremony...Men and women who go into law enforcement do not choose this profession for the money, for recognition or thanks, but it is an honorable and necessary job. We all owe a debt of gratitude to those who put on the badge and gun each day to protect society. The thin blue line has now grown thinner.
 
I read somewhere this morning that it was really an assignation. The killer was laying in wait for the officer.

Police Officer's Prayer to St. Michael

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises
of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional
eyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for
investigation and wise judgement.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and
law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores,
strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences
with the devil that the police officer's lot on earth is not
always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so
pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the
devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your
heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the
throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all
the people. Amen.
 
Rest in Peace sir. Not even had a chance to do his duty. I hope he and his family, get the best Justice out of this.

Story states the shooter told a witness to watch the news because he was going to be famous. Lo and behold the media did just that. When will they learn?:mad:

I have a son and a daughter interested in pursuing law enforcement as a career. This stuff really gets to me.
 
Rest in Peace, my brother in arms. May God provide you angels to guide your soul to that place reserved those having been slain in the line of duty. May God surround your family, friends, and those left to continue the fight against evil, with His love, comfort and peace.

We ask these things with heavy hearts in the name of Jesus. Amen.
