Another sad "Goodbye" thread

Had to make that decision with our 17 year old cat who acted more like a dog. He's waiting at the other end for me as is Fauna for you. They're never gone as long as they're in your heart.

sorry for your loss......I have 3 little guys that give me so much more than I can return

Aloha,

Sorry for your loss.

You know you did the right thing for her.

Bet your ACD is taking her loss hard. Our big male ACD took the loss of his

Aunty, the female ACD that raised him from when he was a puppy hard.

Took him a while to adjust to her loss.

When we loose a pet, we have had them cremated and had

custom urns made for them.

They are now sitting in our china cabinet next to each other.

Dingo & Fauna ate their meals side by side. Now Dingo kinda stands there awhile waiting... :(

The wife & I think maybe Dingo was using Fauna as his guide dog as well when he was losing his sight.

A nice gal on aucado.us made this for me.

Man, I am sorry for the loss of your good and beautiful German Shepherd, Fauna. It is so had to say goodbye to a family member as faithful as a loyal dog. I just lost our 16 yr old sheltie in September and it's like it was yesterday (some days).

Four-Feet
I have done mostly what most men do,
And pushed it out of my mind;
But I can't forget, if I wanted to,
Four-Feet trotting behind.

Day after day, the whole day through --
Wherever my road inclined --
Four-feet said, "I am coming with you!"
And trotted along behind.

Now I must go by some other round, --
Which I shall never find --
Somewhere that does not carry the sound
Of Four-Feet trotting behind.

Words are never enough, but you did right by your old girl. We had to do the same with our five year old yellow lab, Rodeo, earlier this month. Hurt like hell, but Mrs. Ranger happened to find a black lab of about the same age listed online at the animal shelter. I was skeptical, but Sam came home with us and quickly became a part of the family. He's been showered with love, and has helped fill the ache in our hearts. I hope your heart mends from the loss. Consider adopting a rescue GS that needs a good home.
