In the news now, St Mary’s County Maryland, Great Mills High School, another school shooting. Local Sheriffs and FBI on location .
At this time no further reports, the school is on lock down.
My daughter teaches in the county but not that school.
What a great way to start the day! :(

GaryS that’s what I’m hearing as well,,,thanks for the update!

But this can not be possible!!

Maryland has some of the strictest gun laws on the books!
Why was this not prevented?

Yes, I am being sarcastic and I do feel for anyone that was injured or killed. It is awful. I hate to see these things happening. Very disturbing.

Just reported, girl that was shot is in critical condition, second student is in stable condition and the shooter is deceased.
The SRO did his job. When shots fired he went directly to intercede.
News briefing at 1pm.

I might add that my daughter teaches in St. Mary’s County and had this girl in her 4 th grade class, she also knows the parents very well.
My thoughts and prayers go out to these people.

Friends at NAS Pax River are telling me that the shooter had a “falling out” with a girlfriend and used a handgun to shoot her. One male student was also hit, possibly by a stray shot. The RSO engaged and possibly shot the shooter, local sheriff is not confirming. More to come.

fordson this is what has been reported in their news briefing. Their briefing is on now.
Sadly they are reporting the Girl is still in critical condition.

The SRO truely did his job and responded accordingly. It is also reported that that Deputy is also a member of their SWAT team.
The Deputy did fire on the suspect as the suspect fired as well. They are not saying if the suspect was trying to commit suicide.

The school shooter -> media frenzy -> school shooter -> media frenzy is like a perpetual motion machine, with one element leading to the other, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. How does it end before we all lose our rights courtesy of deranged high school males and a media bent on seeing the 2A get rescinded? 1,200 people a day die in the U.S. thanks to tobacco, and it gets not a peep from the media. 1,200 a day and not a peep.

I was one of those kids who had an ‘06 and 20 ga (rounds in the mag)in the window rack of my truck, on school grounds. I would, however, bring them into the coaches office during nighttime football games - couldn’t lock the doors. :)
Similar experience where I went to school. Wingmaster 12 ga. and a bolt .222 in the window rack of my 62 Chevy.
Rubbed all the blue off the barrels where the rack rubbed them, lol.
Quail or coyotes or jackrabbits, look out.
Never thought about a human target somehow.

I agree. It's a shooting that just happened to occur at a school. Could have been in park, library, or anywhere else the intended victim happened to be when the shooter caught up with her.

Which is why it will soon slip beneath the media waves.

It would appear from the accounts I've read that this is not a "school shooting," but rather a domestic violence incident that happened to occur at a school . . .

Same here only different rifles and and no rack. We were actually allowed to bring them into class with us and stack them along the wall. I alternated between a Mauser 98K, a Lee-Enfield, and my Dad's Winchester 1894.

When we grew up things were different. You might call out someone for a fight across from the school. Sometimes you won sometimes you lost. Then there was the times you became best friends. Life was so much better then. It's strange how people don't respect life or property. Boy I'm glad my kids and grandkids turnout great. I feel sad for all those parents and kids involved.

Prayers to the victims. Maryland has some of the strictest gun laws in the country.Gun laws in Maryland - Wikipedia

Apparently the strictest gun laws did not work, but an armed officer in the school did.
No, that contradicts the narrative. They just need to pull all of the cops and pass more gun controls. If a 16 year old says so, it must be true.

So far this morning we haven’t heard any news from Maryland, so far as I know her condition is unchanged. My daughter is suppose to let me know anything as soon as she hears from her mother.
This young lady didn’t deserve this and comes from a good family.
Again I humbly ask for you to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Got word things are not looking good for this girl again please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.:(
