Another super serious Shield problem! Must read!

Okay, I have ANOTHER serious problem now... I was at the Fed Ex place - ready to ship the Shield out.

But, I can't get their front door (at Fed Ex) to open when I push on it. It only opens when I pull on it instead. What the hell?

I kept pushing and pushing... I gave up and went home....

Damn it...

I almost had my lunch fly out of my mouth at the screen these posts had me laughing so hard. I'll bet the guys in the office next to me were wondering what was going on. This was just plain hilarious!

Good one, shipwreck! I saw this one on the other forum, and almost didn't look at it, because of how out of hand it got over the past few days.

Still waiting on the new magazines to ship, and received a nice postcard in the mail from S&W acknowledging the order and explaining their backlog.

Kudos to them for taking the time and effort to send that out--small things like that really make a difference to the customers, and you can be sure that I'll be giving a good recommendation to anyone asking about their product and/or their customer service.

Meanwhile...how is that ESP targeting technique going?

Take care, man!

Yes, I got the post card on Saturday. It's damn hard to read with my eyes closed like this, though :D

Man, I am getting seriously upset here!

When I got home, I discovered another problem!!!

When I turn my Sony LCD tv on, if I put my fingers in my ear, I can't hear a damn thing. But if I turn my Samsung LCD tv on in my bedroom and I sit down, I can hear everything just fine.

I'm going call the company. There is no excuse for this shoddy workmanship....

guess what when i read this bs with my eyes closed i can't HEAR a darn thing. but when i put my ear plugs in and open my eye's i can HEAR it all

That's a classic shipwreck....hands down the funniest thing I've ever read on this forum. Thanks for keepin it real....or as my ever texting wife would say "LMFAO ROFL!"

OMG....I don't own a Shield but I was planning on getting one.

But, since I do own other S&W pistols I decided to check them to see if they had this flaw.

INCREDIBLE!!! They all had this flaw. I tried one after the other...picked up my CS45, aimed at target, but as soon as I closed my eyes the target would disappear! I also experienced an other problem; everything went black. I mean like pitch black. The same thing happened with my 4566, 457, 5906, and 3953.

I quickly called S&W customer service and was passed on to a guy with a British accent. Our conversation below:

Him "Use the Smith & Wessons, Luke"
Me "I don't think I can, I can't let go of my fear"
Him "Let go"
Me "Are you sure?"
Him "Trust me"
Me "OK, but do I keep my eyes open?"
Him "Don't trust your eyes, they will deceive you"

So I did...and sure enough I hit the target even when I couldn't see it. It felt like some force was guiding me...weird.

The customer service guy was awesome; a master of his craft. If anybody else has this problem, call S&W customer service and ask for Ben.

Down here in the bayou country, we put together a top-level task force
to investigate this product defect - with $27 in research funds, Boudreaux, Thibodeaux and a couple of Texas Aggies have found a solution. We will begin marketing "Shield Sight Saver" tomorrow, $49.99 for the economy size -- put a couple of drops in each eye and a couple of drops on the sights of your Shield -- both you and your Shield will instantly be able to acquire targets if you squint your eyes.

We also have a good supply of Seeing Eye Shooting Support Dogs -- these skilfully trained dogs will help you load your Shield, gently nudge you in the direction of the firing line, gently use their muzzle to lift your shooting hand towards the target, and nip you on the rear when it is time to squeeze the trigger -- $5800 shipped to your LPS (local pet store).

Coming soon ----------------- our new line of "The Blindside" sights, Three Blind Mice ammo, and Stevie Wonder shooting glasses.

By golly, you have solved the problem. Put me down for one of those special dogs.. Or hell, I want TWO!

I'm calling S&W tomorrow and tell them you found a solution. They need to start packing one of those dogs in every Shield box!

Wow, just tried this with my XDM. Both eyes close and I see the target just fine, you really have a problem with your shield.

What the heck is going on in the forum? I haven't been paying much attention I guess.

I will attempt to make a you tube video of this as soon as I can, because I find it to be a serious flaw with this gun. I've also contacted S&W directly. They have issued a call tag for my weapon, and it's being sent off today with overnight shipping. They are extremely panicked and they want to have the gun in their hands as soon as possible.

To ensure that all variables related to this problem are fully evaluated, a call tag will be issued for you to ship your eyeballs to S&W so that they can be tested with your Shield.

OK, I tried. I can't fit one of those special dogs inside the box. Now what do I do?
