He never attended college himself, but didn't mind attacking a highly successful Ivy League college graduate for probably not knowing what a library was.

He is a foreigner who came to the Library of Congress to receive a "prestigious" music award from the citizens of the United States.

He had a lot to do with his generation turning its back on morality, fidelity, clean living, Christianity and patriotism

He wrote a lot of songs that made him a lot of money and gave him a lot of "adoring" fans. But this does NOT make him a genius nor a person qualified to discuss the IQ level of a former US President while receiving a special award from the American people! What a jerk!!!

IMHO, this special award should always go to an AMERICAN citizen anyway!

Sorry, this time he's gone too far. I've got some letters to write to my congressmen and to the Library of Congress.

I had a old friend I used to work with many years ago. He was retired air force and had been stationed in england. Said he knew the beetles before they were the beetles, as they sang and hung out at his bar. He said they were just wise ass filthy mouthed teens then. So I already been opinionated on them long ago.

XXXXXXXXX

And all this just when the US was feeling so good about our relationship with the lovely Brittish chaps. It's hard to cost an almost billionare any money, but I'll bet his stock will go down just as much as BP's has. I know I'm gonna throw away that pair of old "Beatle Boots" I've been saving for their come back tour.

It is amazing what the American people accept as the "norm" these days. Twenty years ago someone would have met him in the parking lot. Nowdays we meet them in the parking lot just to give them the "I'm not worthy bow down".

Sad. Really sad.

Give me a good old Steppenwolf greatest hits album (or cd these days)any time.Always despised the Beatles and especially that arrogant jerk McCartney.Oh yeah how about a little Credence Clearwater.Man I am old.

Always take into consideration the source of the message

People pay far too much attention to entertainers in regards to politics and world affairs. Everyone has their own opinion and right thereto. It doesn't mean they know anything more than the rest of the humanoids.

Paul McCarthy is a big name, but these days, he's kinda past his prime. With his drug use over the years, one could say he has no room to be talking about IQ points/brain cells.

I was not a Bush fan, either. As a matter of fact, I have little use for politicians regardless of political affiliation. Bush's handling of emergencies was in my book pretty bad...Lord Obama's is no better and might even turn out worse.

This might make Lennon's gaffe seem small. If John would have said what he said today, it's doubtful it would have even made the news.

McCartney's idiotic comment was totally out of line. He owes Bush an apology.

I don't know why entertainers have to take positions on politics. It's guaranteed to alienate roughly half their fans. You'd think they'd just keep their uneducated mouths shut and let the money keep on rolling in.

Yup... and doing this as the current resident of the White House smiles and praises him. What a two-way love fest this was.

Guess this dates me but, I could care less. I was coming along in their prime and I didn't like them then and still don't. Not saying John Lennon should have been murdered but, when he was killed he was almost put on a pedestal like some sort of a saint. No one deserves to be murcered but I never figured any of those guys for anything except what they really \were "High priced trash"

Don't like it much when a foreigner comes here and speaks poorly of the US or our elected leaders, but it really chaps my hide when our President goes abroad and does not speak well of America.
