Another USPS Rant

High bidder at a VT auction. Many days later they shipped it via USPS. It took FIVE DAYS to get from VT to MA, via NH. It finally left Essex, MA this morning to make it's way to GA. As of yesterday evening the postal service was still saying, expected delivery Monday. I don't know if the USPS can get any worse but I'm sure they will try.

I had reason recently to ship a RIFLE, packed in its original box and a second outer cardboard box, very securely taped, and when I took it to the post office I was told they do not ship firearms. I explained it was a long gun (obviously), not a handgun, and that I had a copy of the addressee's FFL. Before I could get the words out of my mouth I was told rather curtly, "It doesn't matter. No firearms." When I mentioned I thought it was permissible under postal regulations I was told it was the postmaster's policy and she can do whatever she wants. Well, alrighty then.

The via NH part of this is normal...everything here goes through NH. But to answer your question, can they get any worse? Yup, they can, they can get as bad as FedEx.

And when my wife was a postal worker, the junk mail was dated so it HAD to go out on time.
