I kinda fell in love with these smooth N targets. The seller said they were rosewood. They do have very open pores but I'm thinking Goncalo Alves. The rosewood S&W was using in the mid 1950s was really dark but i have seen rosewood used in other applications that was a light color like these. Maybe UGA has a botany department that will analyze these for a positive ID.

Either way I still like them.

The screw head does look slightly larger than the other two examples. The monograms appear to be identical, however the inside cut just forward of the stock circle insert is different from the other two. If it's counterfeit it's a pretty good job.

Those are factory smooth target stocks, in my opinion. Can't be sure of the wood on looks alone. I have some rosewood factory j-frame bananas that are quite a bit lighter than that set.

I have a set of rosewood J RB targets (bananas) that I bought from S&W several years ago and they are light as well. I forgot about then until you mentioned it. I'll have to dig them out.

They look factory to me and I'm guessing rosewood. Not the dark rosewood we think of, but what has been referenced as Honduran rosewood. if you look at the image attached you will see a set of target grips in the package labeled rosewood that looks very close. I think it was a replacement rosewood.

Looks like Goncalo Alves from here. Related to Rosewood. These are the same:
