The best part of this deal was that my wife bought it all.Wow, just wow. Although the look on my wifes face if I brought that collection home would also say something.
I will get letters on the better ones, but I don't know how much that adds if there are no specific details. I believe the Schofield's may just letter to an armory rather than to a unit with the Wells Fargo being the exception. Are you going to letter them?
Several years ago my wife and I visited the NRA museum in Virginia. They had a similar display of H&R revolvers in a knee-high display case and my wife and I were admiring the various guns. Meanwhile, an alarm kept going off in the museum and, each time, the concierge would come in from the lobby and reset the alarm. After the third or fourth time I jokingly said to him, "That's kind of annoying, eh?" The concierge replied, "Yeah. I wish your wife would stop leaning on that case."Antique Smith & Wesson Revolver Collection, a recent acquisition that includes Civil War, Indian Wars, and Old West Cowboy guns: Smith and Wesson Number 3 American, Russian, Schofield (4 are US marked, 1 Wells Fargo), and more.
I was fortunate to purchase these as a collection, and the previous owner spent many years assembling this group.
