You gentlemen were very helpful with the identification of some grips for me before. I hope I can impose on you again with these. They are an antler type, stag grip. Seem too light to be Samber. They came off a Military & Police, where they were on the gun at least before sometime in the 50s, probably longer. They look kind of rough and can't tell if they were some after school project or are a vintage set with any value at all. Thank you for the help, there will be more to come as I go through all this stuff.

The color and "bark" on the outside look sambar, but I see some evidence of stain being used (you can see it on the back). The very porous back and bottom says they are not sambar. The way they are inletted on the back around the "half circle" suggest something more professional than amateur. The screw escutcheons are well done. My best guess is these date from the 1950's and may have been an early professional effort rather than a talented "bubba". Given the overall low quality of the antler, I feel the value is under $100 even if they fit well and feel good.

Thank you for the help gentlemen. I had not considered Red Stag but they do look very much like that. You are correct in it probably not being sambar as they seem very light.

In europe is a common game, it's ROE DEER. Little deer 60 centimeters tall, medium weight 20 kilos. Scentific name "Capreolus capreolus"

I’ve watched several hunting shows about this. Country side is beautiful. Small caliber rifles seem to be the norm. I’d love to try it sometime.
