Any 41mag ammo available?

I don't load any "special" loads and am primarily interested in magnum loads out of my 57. If I want special loads then I will stick with my 38's. I do cast and I have the 215 GC and the 220 molds. I have 4K of gas checks. There are a few commercial casters that offer bullets. I am interested in some experimenting in other powder/bullet combos. So far my best is 215 w/gc is 8.0 Unique or 13.5 Blue Dot. Best 220 15.5 Blue Dot, 7.5 Herco, 18.0 2400. I jumped into the 44 mag arena and now am working on stuff there. Working on loads with my my new 45 ACP also. Whew!!!!

You know teaming up on a reloading project with a friend/child isn't too bad of a idea. I am working on a friend right now. It is the experience that you can never take away. Shoot more, cost less, save the expensive factory for SD loads.

Robert, as a bullet weight for self defense, I see the 170 gr. JHP as the heavy end of optimal in .41 magnum.

The 165 gr. JHPs I use in my .44 magnum are about perfect for caliber. Bullet design might even allow awesome effectiveness at an even lighter weight.

Obviously, heavier weights in either caliber would make more sense when hunting deer sized animals, or bigger.

Aloha,

A few years ago, a local gun shop had a clearance sale on All their 41 cal bullet heads.

Told them I'll take them ALL, just make me a deal I can't refuse. They did and I got 'em all.

Several 1,ooos of different jacketed heads in several different weights and styles.

Before O got elected, I stocked up on New factory brass.

I also have over a half dozen different mold for 41. Including gas checks. I must be one of a few that have gas checks for the 41.

The 41 is a great caliber only if you reload and can cast bullets.

The 41 and the 44 spl are very accurate when reloaded.

I just picked a couple boxes of 170 gr Rem 41 loads in an auction. Seller offered me a couple more which I said YES to. Have never shot this weight. May put them on the net, Dont know yet

You were lucky... Remington only made that load for a short while and it is very rare to find any. I picked up a few boxes at a gun show last year...velocity as I recall was in the 1300s...great find.
