I just bought some Starline 9mm brass($67 for 500 & free shipping) which I thought was a great deal! My first brass purchase. Just thinking of the quality of this brass and others. May should have asked some of you seasoned reloaders out there first.
Any bad brass?

What the heck is Amerc made from anyway? Ditto on staying away from it. Starline is probably the best.

Depending on what you are loading:
Hornady .45 Colt brass that was loaded with Flex Tip bullets is shorter brass than normal
.45 ACP is being made with either small or large primers
I don’t know if they were ever standard, but flash holes keep getting bigger for the non toxic primers
Those are the biggest issues that I have seen so far. I’m sure there is more.

Handgun caliber brass from Remington, Winchester, and Federal is very good. Some issues on Hornady .45LC brass. Starline is excellent and usually less expensive. Good luck w/ your reloading.

Federal has been making some shoddy brass (and ammo) lately. Their .40 S&W and .223 brass stamped "F C" are considered to be somewhat soft. Loading such .40 brass to major power factor (especially in Glocks) is not recommended and the primer pockets of the .223 brass loosen quickly. I can also say from personal experience that their .308 Winchester brass is nothing to brag about either and is rather soft.

It's all good. I have such a mix of head stamps in every caliber. Most information is anecdotal on so called "bad" brass is just that.
I only found Amerc brass(nickle)one time and measured it, tested it and it was fine. Maybe it will not hold up but oh well other than that brand the major players brass all works.
Your Starline is very good and the best price for buying new brass. Should last you a very long time.

I have been reloading 41 Magnum for about seven years and have used mixed brass from Winchester, Federal, Starline, PMC and Remington. Out of those brands, the only ones I have had split so far is Federal and that has only been two splits so far and I have reloaded them many times.
Starline makes good brass, getting it for a good price is even better.

Starline is good stuff. I load all range pickups in 9mm, .38 & .45 but ordered 500 of the Starline .357 for loading the Big Dogs. Why take chances? 
I collect and reuse range brass almost exclusively, so I reload the entire spectrum of brands. I don't use Amerc because everyone says it's bad (and don't see much of it), but the only headstamp I consistantly toss is "CBC" due to splitting.
I don't use Remington brass for .45 auto. It is very thin and doesn't have enough neck tension to prevent setback with hardball bullets.

I bought 100 rnds. of Jamison .357 brass.Really bad primer pockets.mis-aligned primer holes and crimp like burr around primer pocket.

I have used Federal, Winchester, Remington, PMC, MagTech, Starline, Speer, CCI, Blazer, WW Western and probably a few others and the only one I will never use is Amerc. Using Amerc brass is a waste of components.
