Any Browning Long Gun Fans Here?

I was in Jaqua's in Findley, Ohio last year. They had a recently acquired Superpose from the late 50's, completely refurbished. 410, grade I Lightning Prince of Wales grip, Beautiful Blonde Walnut stock, 30" IC/M, $8100. I passed. I love 410, I love Superpose'! I thought that was about double the price I was willing to pay. (Translate that to mean: At that price, I wasn't willing to hear my wife tell all I needed to know about guns!) Plus, I had just bought a Citori 725 410 32" at $2400 the month before (and I got no lecture).

I've got their lever action 22. Had it for decades. Bought it cheap off a gun-flipping friend. Ehh. It's ok. Not particularly accurate. Best thing about it is it cycles everything. Good for plinking. That's about it. Not good for head shots on squirrels at more than short range.

I have a Light 12 Auto-5 and a .308 BLR, both Belgian made. Looking for a Belgian SA-22. Don't want to start an international incident in by gun safe.

I have a Browning BL-22 Grade II

So yes, I like Brownings. :)

Yes, by name and by design. I have a Remington Model 11, also, but no photo of it.

The interesting thing about these two rifles is that one has Browning's name but wasn't his design, and the other is his design but doesn't have his name:

Have 3 Auto 5 plus an early Bar in 7 mm Rem. All are Belgian plus Hi power with Nazi proofs pretty rough. 20 mag has been used by the grandkids for Iowa deer hunting. This little 20 mag will put Super X slugs on target like a rifle !

I have 7mm mag A Bolt II in stainless synthetic with BOSS. Most accurate gun I own. But also the loudest. I've never had an A5 but did have a B80 wich I traded towards the 7mag. Also have ABolt II in .270, and .308. Love that little 308 super fast handling. All my deer rifles wear Vortex scopes. My son bought an ABolt III in 7mag and it far exceeds its price in performance. It to wears a Vortex.

boykinlp,
Thanks for starting this Browning thread

I often talk about my love for the 1911 which as we all know was a JMB design. I love them so much I was born on John Moses Browning's birthday

I own more 1911s than any other model of firearm. In-fact I am in the middle of two additional custom 1911 builds right now

But my Browning connection has always tied me to his other designs as well. This man was a genius. The ideas he worked on at his home are still in use today

Unfortunately the Gun Control Act of 1968 pretty much destroyed the garage inventor/hobbyist idea of innovation. There is so much Federal intrusion that most folks these days won't tinker in their spare time any longer for fear of prosecution.

When it comes to Brownings, I still need to get one of the little semi auto 22s and one day I will replace the Citori I had in college. Then I need a BSS and who knows what else, perhaps a Medalist

Back in 1993/1994 I worked out in Dallas County Texas. It was such a nice change going to a gun show at Market Hall in Dallas when compared to what goes on here in Florida.

Back then there were several dealers with half a dozen or more tables filled with beautiful Browning Shotguns. Such a shame that I did not have enough discretionary funds back then to take advantage of that access

Sorry for the rambling post

I just recently happened into a Remington 241. A very nice condition 1st yr production gun w/o the 'Speedmaster' marking on the side of the frame.
First 24 or 241 I've had as my own since the 60's!

Then a couple weeks ago an FN .22SA rifle came my way.
It was made in 1956, but for the European market.
Not marked Browning Firearms Co and made for export to the USA.

Seen a hard life in an attic or garage but the bore is perfect. Coudn't get the bbl to TD and the inner mag tube assmbly is missing.
Nice wood grain.
So another project now in progress already.
Nearly all polished up, lettering recut, TD issue fixed and wood in the refinishing stage w/orig checkering recut.
Might do some upgrading engraving on it.
Gotta get that mag tube yet.

My others are two Fn A5 12ga. One from 1933(?) and the other a '62.
Lots of Hi-Powers came and went . Always liked that pistol but can't rack the slide on them anymore.

I have a few:

1957 SA 22 short rifle

1947 WWII Vet bring back Auto 5 in 16 gauge. I bought it from the Vet's grandson

1988 Citori lightning in 16 gauge bought at Jaqua's in Findlay

1988 Citori Upland special English stock 24 inch bbls in 20 gauge

1992 Citori lightning in 16 gauge

1999 Browning BPS in 28 gauge

2014 Browning BPS game gun in 20 gauge

Challenger II 22 pistol

2019 Browning X bolt Medallion in 22-250

I have had many others over the years And the one I regret selling was the model 92 In 357
