There was a nice thread started a short while back on Scotch. It was active for a while and I am sure it will revive from time to time. I enjoy it!

I thought I'd start a Cigar Smoker/Aficionado Thread, with the hopes it will bring those of us on the forum that enjoy cigars together. This would be an open thread, allowing any and all questions and/or topics related to cigars smoking.

To get things started, I'll start of with a question other than the obvious question within the title.

Which are your five favorite Cigar Manufactures? Actual manufacture, not a particular cigar or series of cigars they produce.

Mine are, in order of importance:

Paul Garmirian
Padron
Fuente
My Father
La Flor Dominica

Don't hesitate to ask other questions or make personal statements about brands and cigars you like!

That said, what I smoke the most is Casa de Garcia, because they are quite smokable at $2.60 a stick. And I would be remiss if I did not at least mention the eponymous Marsh Wheeling, although it has been years since I smoked one.

I don't really burn that many, in the neighborhood of 4-5 a week. At least that's what I told my doc on Monday, so that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

My local shop is awfully proud of their Perdomos, but I find them too strong, i.e. way too much nicotine, especially in the last half. They also carry Brickhouse, which are quite good for the money. I have smoked a lot of brands, but lately find myself limited by the selection of my local.

If it's a premium hand roll I'll smoke it. I smoke 2 punch maduros a week. That's about all I'm willing to spend on tobacco but I sure enjoy them.

I like your chose of makers. Of those Padron and My Father are my favs.
My father turns out so many great ones for other brand names and I've yet to have one that I didn't like.
Padron 1926 is one of my all time favorite sticks. Wish I could afford for it to be a daily smoke!

montecristo, in various shapes. partagas p2, and sd4. hoyo de monterrey, in various shapes. during summer 3-4 per week and none in winter. smoked cigars for many years and was told to give them up several years ago. dr. said I would feel much better. feel no better and miss my cigars, so went back to having a few.

My everyday is a Flor del Todo maduro, about $1/stick. Otherwise, you guys have hit most of them already, though I also like:

Diesel
Alec Bradley
"Original Cubans" from CI

In the rebellion phase within weeks of my 18th birthday, i landed a job at the cigar store.

All time brand is Padron, Camacho, and Oliva. but the actual sticks are

#1 camacho 10th anniversary maduro
#2 is Camacho liberty. It changes from year to year so i picked the 2009 one, which still had a.pre embargo cuban leaf in it. I'm sure they ran out of cuban leaves by now.
#3 Padron 1926
#4 Oliva series V
#5 Cain. I can't remember which Cain, but it's the darker one. Cain is made by Oliva.
#6 another Oliva, the Nub series. There's about 6 of them but i like them all about equal.

Smoking cigars became our favorite pass time in Iraq. Our group of friends created a cigar night every friday at that particular picnic table over there. The LT brought his pipe, since he wanted to fit in but wasn't a cigar guy.

Quick story, it was a Man 'O War cigar, if i remember correctly. It was well balanced, decent flavor, and smooth. It tingled a bit, and it tasted very much like black pepper and was spicy, but not spicy enough to require a drink.

One of our friends, a short skinny black kid came along. His interest in cigars was sparked but he didn't know the brands yet. He tried mine. He inhaled it straight down to the lungs and coughed it up for a solid 10 minutes. Turns out he's not a fan of pepper or spicy stuff at all. We had a good laugh that night.

I burn a few: about 8 a year.

Hard to talk about favorites. I have enjoyed many that have already been mentioned, and I am fortunate to always have some interesting ones available for special moments. For regular stuff, I really like Rocky Patel Decades and try to always keep some around. Same with Nub Camaroons and Oliva Serie V Bellicosos.

Love 'em.

Love cigars. Used to smoke way more than now but anti's have limited opportunities.

That said, rarely does day go by w/o at least one.

All time mainstream favorite is a Dunhill Peravia. I prefer Churchill size smokes. Just packed one for my trip to Madison, WI, tomorrow. I understand there is a cigar bar near my hotel and will likely find a spot for one or two pre- and post- the Terps v. Badgers game. Have packed a couple cheap robustos for that. Dunhill is set aside for after a Wonder Bar dinner.

Always smoke cheap cigars on the golf course; have left far too many 'somewhere' on various courses.

More comments along the way...

Be safe.

To many to list. My friends own two Cigars in the Tulsa area one in Owasso and one in down town Tulsa it's my Friday and Saturday night hang out. I travel a lot and they by far have the best Cigar shop and lounge I've ever been in. Right now the main cigars I'm smoking are by Bobalu out of Austin, TX. They just introduced a tres capa cigar. I tried the first one today, very good.

I also like Rocky Patel Connecticut. Actually, I like Rocky Patel anything.

We actually need a cigar and scotch thread.

A great friend of mine and the former owner of Camacho cigars started a new line in 2012.
If any of you guys wants to try an excellent full body, I would encourage you to try out an Asylum, or an Asylum 13 (very full).
Also love Tatuaje black, and Illusione' 88's
Also Room101's (thanx to Matt for letting me use his logo for my avatar)

Well, if the embargo wasn't still in place I'd say HdM Epicure 2, Partagas Presidentes, Shorts and PSD4s, along with maybe Bolivar Royal Coronas or PCs. I've heard those are really good. But alas, they are outlawed.

So I'll say in no particular order, 601s, Famous 3000s, Fuente Anejos, Don Pepin Blue labels, and for that special occasion, the LFD Mysterio.

Ask me next week and you'll most likely get different answers. ;)
