My experience with Meg-Gar has been stellar but I only have their 15 & 17rnd S&W 9mm ones. (I do have an early kinda different 59 that they will not function in but….)

I received an email/sale tonight from a source that I've done a lot of business with. New Meg-Gar 15rnd Hi Power mags for just under $20.00. 13rnd ones still out of stock.

I'm pretty sure the proposed new Oregon law will pass, including the 10rnd max mag part, "with exemptions," (what's that mean, it's not stated.) It seems pre owned mags might be exempt. (?) I'm more than good on all my over 10rnd mags including 30-40 rnd ones. I've unfortunately been anticipating the Californiafication of Oregon for a while. I totally forgot about a few more magazines for my dangerous C&R/antiquated T Series Hi Power. :D

Thanks for any real experience with Meg-Gar Hi Power 15rnd magazines. This isn't intended to be a political question or statement.

I grabbed 4 nickel plated 15 rounders from Greg Cote a few months back for the fake Hi Power that Springfield makes, as always with mec-gar, flawless in both workmanship and reliability. Well worth the money.

They work...

I've seen a handful of people claim that the lack of legs on the follower (that's how they get the extra 2 rounds) can cause them to jam compared to 13 round mags, but I have yet to ever see it or read it from someone firsthand - it's always "I had a friend…".

I've never had an issue with them. MecGar is the OEM manufacturer for Hi Power mags, they just don't sell the "rat trap" mags themselves.

Now I wish I'd picked up more 20 round MecGar mags when they were easier to find.

I'd add that the nickel mags pretty reliably drop free. The blued ones usually do early on, but less so with use. I have a mix of both, but I usually keep mine loaded with a nickel mag or a Browning rat trap.

I've had no problem with the 15rd MecGars in my SA-35. I bought a bunch of them back in the spring, probably a lifetime supply, but they cost me a bit more than $20 a piece.
