Any information appreciated Mod. 64-3

My father-in-law gifted me a Smith & Wesson 38 Special CTG.
On the bottom of the grip it is stamped ABR6902
Inside the cylinder it is stamped Mod. 64-3 B17 S 21679 (the S is sideways).
It's in really nice shape. I think I'm in love....

I don't have any of my reference materials at hand to give you a DOB or anything, but all the Model 64s I've had, as well as the ones I've cleaned up for friends, have been great shooters. Those older K frames are really nice. Best of luck with your new revolver.

Welcome to the Forum. That 64 could well be the beginning of a long journey down the S&W highway. A great gun to start your collection. Looks like possibly 1983 for your gun. Nice clean looking piece.
