Guy I know wants to sell his (to me.)

It's in outstanding shape. 4 inch, flash chromed hammer and trigger, red insert front sight. But it does have HOUGE wood grips and not the originals.

It is a 651 no dash six shot J frame.

I want it to go with my 63 kit gun (4 inch .22.)

Should be a nice gun for woods carry. Very loud and $$ to shoot. A 22LR cylinder would really make a 651 a desirable acquisition. I had a 650 which is the fixed sight model and couldn’t hit anything with it so it got traded off.

Loud and dirty is about the worst of it. Although 4" is not as dirty as the 2" pocket rockets. The HOGUE stocks are easy to replace.

The plan is this. My friend wants my S&W 60-15 Pro 3 inch .357 (I have the original box, papers, both grips.)

I wan the 651 and I'm willing to part with $200 extra for his. So is that a fair deal?

..decent deal...

Had one with both cylinders. Only sold it because I also had a 63 with a 651 cylinder that shot a little better because of the replaced sights and really nice action job...

Only problem with them is the COST!!!

Bob

My 4-inch 651 is probably the most accurate J-frame rimfire revolver I own. I don’t care about the noise and the cost of ammo nearly so much when they shoot like this one does. Great little revolver. Do wish it had better sights, as SuperMan alludes to. Square, black front Patridge blade would help.

Above comments mostly accurate.
Have one because I wanted one!
The 63’s and other 22LR are most likely better choices.

The only downside I know off is the $$ of .22 Mag ammo. .22 Mag is a great round, just wish it wasn’t more expensive than 9mm. I’d love to have a reloadable “.22 Mag” revolver. (yeah, I know 5.7 X 28 but it’s an auto with a bottleneck case-think .22 Jet). Plus nobody makes one

Fortunatly I have .22 magnum ammo.. and he also has 4 boxes of it to sell. And I have a new 63 kitgun (Hillary hole model) for practice. Plus an original 63 4 inch kitgun in .22 lr (and a 2 inch version!!!)

So I'll drag out the 60-15 and all it's stuff and get ready (I see him Wednesday) and see if I can get a deal!

I was looking at the 651s. I've got a 51 and I won't shoot it. Too nice, and besides I've got 48s for that. A J frame 22 mag is probably lots of fun, and loud.

I did not know that 22 mag ammo had gotten so expensive.

Ok.. got the gun! Did the swap... and did you know those Houge grips are $125!!!

Now the picture does not to justice to these grips.

They are Houge Rosewood stripe with cap! A but older ones cause they are round butt style (but square butt on the inside.)

I put a set of standard S&W service J SB stocks for the picture.

Now to go shoot it!
