Of all the various types of firearms made by Ruger, I like their single action revolvers the best. I was very happy to find this early model Vaquero in a pawn shop recently. It has the larger frame and can handle the "Ruger only" loads. The New Vaqueros (except for the recent .44 mag) have a smaller frame designed to mimick the Colt SAA better.

This gun appears to be one made for Davidson's as a special edition. I think the only thing making it "special" is that it came with 45 Colt and 45 ACP cylinders.

Please share pics of your favorite Ruger SA's. Thanks!

My dad had a BH in .41 Magnum, and I started shooting it the day after he bought it, when I was eleven years old.

I gravitate more towards S&W and Colt these days, but yes, I still love Ruger revolvers!

Elmer Keith stated that the Ruger SBH was the finest single-action made, and I've always agreed with him. It's always been my favorite.

Here's my modest collection:

And the BH .357 makes four clicks!

I have a few, plus a couple of DA Ruger revolvers. I also have a 6" Bearcat on order, and a couple of other SAs that are in another drawer.

Of course it does.:D It's still a 3 screw model.

This Super Blackhawk in.44 mag was the first handgun I ever purchased , some 35+ years ago to hunt white tail deer. I have semi retired it in favor of a scoped model 629 due to aging eyes but I’ll never part with it.

A stainless grip frame made our 7.5” 45C’s balance well worth the installation....... and just bought a Winchester Miroku ‘92 24” so the kids will have an almost complete gift ...... Florida kids can’t hunt with fishing rods alone in the Rockies/Sierras or Alaska.
Next is a COLT SAA 4.5” 45 Long Colt.

Used Blackhawks are available for reasonable prices and ours received a “tuneup” at the factory, in ‘81, and it makes everyone a smiling sharpshooter.
Don’t really need the Colt but..... :D
