Any Old Timers Remember The Great "Post Count Flush Job"

I was new back then and remember reading the posts of really aggrivated "veterans". I remember wondering, "what's the big deal?"
In any case, one poster I don't see around these parts any more is "stonehorses" she was great to deal with on both the sell side and buy side. Howdy if you're still out there.

I miss Aussie44, got banned. There was a photo guy too.
nice people. The gals have seemingly slipped away. Barb, Jonie, some special others too. Time marches on.

It wasn't a measly 12,000, it was 14,461 lost! I'll get over it when I up and die. And to think I'd be up and knocking on 20,000 soon.

14,461....... but who's counting. And I don't ever remember you getting 'long knifed' either. (or did I miss that)

I was close to 1400 when the flush happened. I admit I was a bit demoralized. It wasn't so much the loss of the post count as it was the owner's attitude about it.
My presence here was hit and miss for a long time. I've only recently started visiting here regularly again.

I belong to a forum that doesn't even count the posts made in their "lounge" secion.

I don't post all that much. I was only somewhere above 800. Post count doesn't matter that much to me, but I do miss some of the old timers. They were a real fount of knowledge, humor and great photos.

But don't forget, your post count was a measure of what kind of man or women you were.;) It was the attempt to reach a level to be a Senior Member or some such thing.:D

I lost about 8,000 posts and at the time was kinda upset, but I got over it pretty quick. I seldom go into the detail that I once did. What I ain't over yet is that my join date was also screwed up somehow. I've been here since 2003,not 2005. There were only a couple of thousand members at the time, iirc. I still take notice of the old timers join dates when I read their posts. I still miss some of the guys who really played a large part in creating the popularity of this great forum, but are no longer here. A few,not so much.

I miss the cop from Detroit. Don't remember his screen name but he was a history book of the special elite squads and knew the motown music players and venues and all the cool inner city gun stores. And DHart was the first of many fine photographers that shared tips freely with the forum that I remember. I think he still does all the Ahrend grip pics.

Oh,while I'm at it.......

This forum has really helped me pass the time since 2003. I have been deployed almost 10 years in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan (not continously). I get a good laugh, a lot of knowledge, and some tears. Last and most I have made a lot of friends and bought a ton of S&W's. Along with the post count I thought the earlier posts dissappeared as well. Or is my search options limited? Anyway, here's to another post count addition:)
