I have a flat top Picatinny Style mount rails and I was not sure that if the Integrated Weaver-style mounting system would fit.. Comes with a 1/2 riser also seems decent to me for the money. What do you guy's and gal's think?
Let me also ask what does this mean? "•Parallax free from 30 yards" Here is the URL to it.. Thanks George

John, Thanks for the reply! I think it has a 2.5 and a 5 MOA Dot. Or am I reading it wrong?

The Primary Arms MicroDot and Bushnell TRS-25 have been reviewed a zillion times and folks like them. Both are under $100 with AR platform specific risers. With dime store optics it's not a bad idea to go with something with a decent history.

As far as that specific optic... they advertise it with multi-colored and different reticles. Sounds like another one of those tactical kaleidoscopes designs. Dime store optics are iffy enough without adding complexity.

None of the above is to say it isn't a decent optic for the price, but rather pointing out some of the considerations when buying budget optics.

I have a tru-glo on my MP15 and works very well. It's a two color model and has a ring around the dot.

If you were having parallax problem then your eye is too close to the scope. move the scope up and it'll be accurate.

I use a Tru-Glo and half inch riser to co-witness the irons on my 15-22 and it works well for a .22 shooting at a max off 100 yards. For my sport I went with the Burris 332 to make better use of its potential reach much further then 100 yards with some accuracy. Spend a lil more and you won't be disappointed.

Second for the Burris AR223, great optic. I have tried a couple of very good RD's and have always can back to the Burris. People can laugh at the use of multi colored reticles, but the Burris will go green, red and black, and the black you can use even if the battery is dead. If you shoot into dark back grounds, the red or green will help you pick up your targe much quicker.
If you want a red dot, the Bushnell TRS-25 is a very good choice.

I've used the TRS25 and for the price was satisfied.

For someone who has never owned a scope or even shot through a scope, what are some budget friendly and easy to use scopes? My first AR-15, M&P Sport. Only owned and shot handguns in the past... Thanks in advance.

It is my opinion that optics that have to add multiple features, like different colors or reticles, to sell the unit, probably didn't put that much effort into building it in the first place.

I'd go with the Primary Arms Miro Dot if saving money was my primary goal.

It looks like you have a choice between using either a 2.5 or 5.0 MOA dot. Personally if you plan to stretch it out beyond 50 or so yards, you'll want something with a 1 MOA dot. You could get by with a 2 MOA dot out to 100 yards. The 5 MOA would be good for CQB and the 2.5 out to 50.
The Primary Arms Micro-dot would be a good choice out to no more than 100 yards.
