I know there are many music fans here and I wondered if there were any Eleanor fans here? I listen to her often and always enjoy her performances. I admit am a bit partial to Irish performers. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1U_pSxu_VHg[/ame]

One more, a duet with another favorite artist of mine. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YSJFIYCvKw[/ame]

I like her voice, but I think "Hard Times" was meant by Stephen Foster to be a lament, a dirge and not a celebration as Eleanor's version seems to be.
Have a listen and a look at this version by Thomas Hampson, baritone, and Garrison Keillor, bass.

I'll betcha some of our parents and grandparents fit in those pics. Dad told me he was orphaned during the Great Depression, and learned fifty ways to prepare potatoes, and that very, very few of us in our and subsequent generations know what really hard times are. We should thank almighty God we came out of that mess to be blessed the way we are today.
