It seems as though the 4" model 27 seems a bit odd, I have a 27-3 with a 4" barrel that I bought with goodyears, Now the gun wears SS grips, It is a very nice shooter in my book.
Heres the pics I have.

I finally get to play ,having just acquired this 27-2 last month. Traded a plain jane Kimber 45 and $150. for it.
It's become part of my permanent N frame stable

Allen-frame, I think that you did good, I would have dont the same thing. Your rear sight looks to be a bit different than the others here, Do you have a pic of the top of it?
Although the 3.5" 27 is sought after, And I have never fired a 3.5" I like the way the 4" feels and balances, Mine has thinning blue on all the sherp edges, therefore a great shooter!
These are some great pics! Makes me want more 27s, You just dont see them for sale very often!
Peter.

I have one of these and it truley is a nice revolver. I do not have any pics of it though. I can't remember what dash it is but,it is not P&R. You seem to see alot more of 3.5 inchers on the forum. What do these go for price wise these days? Mine is about in about 95% condition or better. Nice Pics.

Here's one that got caught in a bling factory. I'm still not sure if I like it this way or not.

Litlman, according to all the info I've read, the 4" was the lowest production of all the barrel lengths. Wouldn't know it from this thread though. There sure are some pretty guns here!

Here's the 4" that I paid $600 for at a gun show about a month ago. The seller commented that the 3.5" is more common, but I had been wanting a 4". I had just gotten there and was at the end of the first row and saw it, considered it, and paid it. A couple of rows later I saw one with the presentation box for $650 but I don't feel bad. I bought it to shoot, not keep in a box.

I also have a nice 6" that I paid $300 for, but that was in 2003.
