I had the same problem finding ammo but recently found some at Buffalo Bore. Yes, it was an "outrageous" price. Delivery was as promised. What I got was:
Standard Pressure Short Barrel Low Flash Heavy 38SPL (non +P): Item 20C/20 158gr, soft cast LSWHP-GC 850 FPS

I have seen both posted - perhaps I should have indicated semi-reasonably priced. I can stand $25-30 per 50 but those prices are super-cool/tactically enhanced prices.

Found some Sellier & Bellot 158 grain SPs for $21.99 per 50 at Sportsmansguide thanks to your link.

Was advised by a Cabela's employee to check Tuesday and Thursday mornings because that's usually when the shelves get stocked.
Went today and they had Herter's Brass 158 grain FMJs for $18.99 per box. They have a 5 box total limit and a (1) 100 round box limit on .22s so since they also had Mini-Mags on the shelf for $7.99 per 100 I got (4) boxes of .38s and (1) box of Mini-Mags.
