I have always loved tattoos and have 3 soon to be more but was wondering if anyone else here has any. Heres a pic of my most recent one that I got for my birthday.

When I went into the Navy over 40 years ago, My mother said,,,do NOT get a tattoo, I ask her why,,,she said because for the rest of your life, when people see it they will wonder,,,was he a sailor or a convict. never did want or get one after that.

I have to agree, I joined in 1967, and my mom said the same thing, and I never got one. After my wife passed in 1997, I started dating again. It was amazing how many lady ex-cons and vets I ended up going out with!

I've got one on each upper arm. One is the Firefighters Maltese cross (I was a FF for 13 years) and it says, "Brotherhood". On my other arm is my own design and has all 3 of my kids names. Was I in the service, NO, am I a convict, NO. I am a God fearing family man with a full time professional job. Please don't stereotype and accept the fact that everyday people can have tattoo's. I see it as a freedom of expression and both of mine mean something very important to me. My next one will be a cross in memory of my sister who died in a car accident at the age of 30, leaving behind a husband and 2 very young children. My tat's are covered by a short sleeved shirt so when I dress for work, you won't see them unless I want you to.

I think it's great to see all the 'ink' work that's out there. Come on everyone, show them off!!

The biggest problem I have with tattoos is that all that is really required to get one is the money to do it. It may sound weird, but scars have always interested me much more. They are generally hard earned (not bought), and the stories behind them are much more interesting.

Yeah...I'm a tattoo fan...I like them on other people.

I've thought about getting one, but I can't think of one that I'd be willing to have for the rest of my life.

I may get one someday...just not sure what or when.

I know a guy who has his son's (when he was an infant) on his left corner of his chest. I often remark, 'it looks like Martin Luther King' Jr., and it does.

He also has the city's skyline in his belly. He has gained a lot of weight. Everytime, I see his tatoo, I mention how our city is growing.

I just don't get it. But hey, it's America, do it if you want.

Do i need to say anything about the first and last ones? The ones in the middle are for my children. I have a few more but i like these the best so far.

I am the same way. I have always been fascinated with how detailed some are.

I once thought I should have a tattoo of a fist on my torso with a finger pointing to my head and "I'm with stupid" written out.

Some nice looking tattoos shown here.
