My wife got on my butt last night, I purchased a Kahr MK40 from an gentleman for $529 shipped. Super deal for a gun that sells for $950 with night sites. I have been looking for a Shied .40 for weeks. And still want one. She told me that I have plenty of .380's I can carry, and what about the M&P 40c up in the safe. My reply was ... you feel comfortable carrying and shooting a .380, and we have four of them, all great guns. But I belive you should carry and shoot the largest caliber you are comfotable carrying and shooting. I am a .40 kind of guy. I love my Compact, but find myself carrying a .380 more than it. So I purchased the Kahr because it is about the same size as the .380.
I can't go wrong on that deal, in these times I could easily trade it for a new Shield , or sell it for more than I bought it for.

If the locals are sold out, you need to use the internet to find one (which you are doing right now) then have it shipped to your FFL.

Be prepared to pay a lot to get one if you can't wait.

Yeah be very prepared! I've been looking for about 4 months now and decided to go the gunbroker route. I had one for $50 above MSRP until someone decided they would try to snipe me!! Needless to say I spent way more than I wanted but I was not letting this one go after bidding for a week. Plus my wife told me, "I'm tired of hearing about a d*** Shield, buy it!!!". I drive 600 miles to work and tried every dealer in Houston, San Antonio, Laredo to no avail, and was a day late when Botach Outfitters in Baton Rouge received 20 but sold them all the same day. Just keep trying. If you have Facebook like grabagun, they will post when they receive a shipment. Good luck finding one. Now with just my luck, my shield won't be in until after I leave for work so I have to wait three long weeks till I get back to get it.
