My M&P 15 - 22 is probably my favorite "fun gun". Functions well, looks good and is cheap to keep fed. I put a Wilson Combat trigger kit in it to improve the pull -- nice addition, and was easy to do. I'm thinking of taking it to another level though -- getting it made into a short barreled rifle. Does anyone have experience in getting this done? I see that Innovative Arms does a slick looking integrally suppressed shorty conversion. If I send them my gun, do they have to engrave it, or is that my responsibilty with a Form 1? Thanks!
Anybody else feel obsessed about their M&P 15-22?

The one thing I really enjoy with the 15-22 is the fact that it's the only rifle I can take to an indoor range as well as an outdoor range. Can't do that with my .223 or my 7mm TC/U.
I'm not really addicted to the 15-22 as of late. I've just picked up a new 627-5 PC last Friday and shot it for the first time on Sunday. The revolver feels wonderful. The 15-22 will still be the one I start my kids with (my oldest has already shot it a couple of sessions; youngest will get her chance when she turns 16 in a couple of years.) But for the remainder of this year, it'll be all about the 357/38 in the vault.

made me smile to know that just about everyone loves this gun.
That's always the best.
I personally LOVE getting anti gunners to the range. If you can do that, you're about 98% able to convert them.
Maybe they won't convert all the way and will side with the guys saying things like reasonable restrictions, no AW's or only hunters/sport shooters, but the smile on their faces when they touch off their first rounds......

I have a 10" Contender barrel in 7mm TC/U. Great metallic silhouette and hunting round!

LOL, I guess you're right; I don't know when TC stopped making the 7mm TCU but I've had that since around the mid 80's; mine is 14" (Super14); I also have a 10" bull barrel .44 and recently I purchased a .223 23" stainless rifle barrel for it along with a synthetic stock. The versatility of the Thompson is pretty good but I found that I like shooting the .223 more than I'm willing to load the rifle, particularly since I have a Colt LE6920 so I removed the .223 and may be selling it with the stock; I've put my .44 magnum barrel back on and shot a few rounds out of it. It still kicks like a mule but I've gained like 20 lbs. since I last shot .44 and it's actually easier to control now.
