I have an opportunity to get one of these guns and wanted to see if anyone here has seen one or knows what it might be worth.

Thanks,

Todd

So, is is all the engraving that makes it "tactical"?

That's not engraving, it's urban camoflage....
Dat's wut makes it Tack Tick All.

Thanks for the informative answers guys!

The Thumb Latch is Tactical along with the ONE HKS Speedloader..
The Full Lenth ejector rod & checkerd thumb grasp erea are kinda cool along with the trigger stop & eagle grips/stocks..
I haven't seen this "Tactical Edition" before

This was not engraved by S&W; it was done by the American Historical Society (which has done a plethora of guns in the past).

The original 66 F-Comp is gorgeous and incredibly accurate...neat gun!

I've never heard of it called the "Tactical Edition" (even though it's marked as such on the bbl. - I always heard it called the AHF F-Comp) but seeing the ads for this is what made me want an F-Comp so bad I could taste it. (This very picture that you posted, which was the advert. for it, was my desktop background for a LOOOOOONG time...) I didn't get one of these, because of the excessively high prices the AHF charged for them. (Note, there were only 50 made, and AHF used them as a fund-raiser, so they sold for more than what you could buy a 3" 66 and have it engraved would cost.)

Still, I love the engraving, whoever did it, and the custom box it fit in is kind-of neat, though not as nice as a fitted case, IMO.

If you can get this at anywhere under what the AHF originally sold them for, you're probably doing good. Lucky you that you found it! I'm jealous. (Though, not too jealous, because I got a later-edition F-Comp. Not engraved, but shoots real nice, and I got the same grips from Eagle. I might have to find an engraver some day, when I win the lottery...)

That F-Comp is absolutely gorgeous! So, does anyone know what the market price for it is? Anyone? Anyone? Buehler? Buehler? (Sorry, couldn't resist that one.)

Regards,

Dave

Just as a comparison, here is a uberti gen George Patton edition also done and engraved by the American Historical Fondation. I bought it used/new cheap years ago for about $500. I see they now still advertise them for just under 3K! (If they acualy sell any) P.S. I just checked that. That edition is no longer advertised. Must have sold them all?

Thanks MMA10mm for the info. Do you remember what they sold for originally? This guy is asking $1,600.00 for his. He said he is selling it for way less than he originally paid ???

What do you think?

Thanks,

Todd

Now I know what I had seen! On a slightly older similar thread a week or two ago I mentioned that right after I bought the one pictured above, I seen a identical one at a neighboring gunshop down the road. It had the same white diamound insert as pictured.

Gorgeous gun. Please let us know if you got it.
Price-wise you can compare to 66-6 Perf.Center Carry Comp. I could not locate any in new condition cheaper than $1289 and the seller did not want to drop the price.
I do not know the difference between carry comp vs f-comp or production numbers either. So make your call yourself, but seems reasonable to me.
