Anybody got a muscle car

Great Nova!

I had a 69 SS 396 Chevelle when I was a kid. Nothing sounds better than a big block with a big cam and headers. I had a 456 gears. I could make it from Cincinnati to Lexington on a tank of gas.

Mine gets 9 mpg if you drive it nice. I had a 65 Chevelle convertible, 327/300 hp 4 speed. The pictured Nova is a TH400. less than 3500 made, and only about 800 with the TH400. I do believe 1970 was the only year they bored the 396 out to 402. It is a 375hp, solid lifters and solid cam. I had some work done on it by a 35 year corvette mechanic. He said the motor is really 425 hp. When they put it in the Corvette the engine was 396/425 hp. BUT, he said because the Corvette was the flagship car, nothing could be rated for more hp than the Corvette. So they just went to the HP/RPM graph, and picked a lower hp rating along the RPM curve. He said the motor was identical in every way , with not the slightest difference. The carb is a Holley 750 on a hi rise Edelbrock. I found out an interesting tidbit when I called Holley. The same carb and manifold was used on the 302 Z/28. same jets too. Of course we all know the Z/28 was meant to dominate a certain class. The 295 hp rating was baloney. It was actually up around 400. I went looking for a 69 Z/28, and ended up with this. I bought it in 91, and it has never had a drop of rain on it

Factory Nova SS? Very nice and rare bird indeed, beautiful ride dude. No muscle car (yet!). Muscle truck only at this point, but about to buy a new house and then the car will be in the works.

Just this one, owned it since May of '82. Originally an R-code 428 CJ, it had a 390 when I bought it. It has had a stroked 427 sideoiler ever since.

Yep, I bought a beautiful 69 Z on Ground Hogs day 1974, 21,000 miles, bought from a young lawyer, had a fresh high performance overhaul from Nickey Chevrolet, with about $2500 in high performance parts then, would be about 25,000 now..

somebody guess what I paid for it?? with a personal check no less 150 miles from home???

1200.00???

I know my 69 Road Runner was 2975.00 out the door in 1969. Yellow, black vinyl top, 2 wide flat black hood stripes, 3:91 gears, black interior with rugs( option). I have seen it, it has been restored

Yes all factory. A true SS car with bucket seats and all the gauges in the console. Stock intake and exhaust and valve covers
