Got stung in my car today! OUCH!

Household ammonia works good at reliving stings and other bug bites.
Just get it worked in the wound and in short order you will feel relief.

Many years ago I was driving down I-10 in my Tacoma with the window down headed to my kids' swimming lessons. As I was about to get off at the exit, something hit my side mirror, came in the window, hit me in the chest, and fell between my legs. I looked down to see a stunned wasp on the seat between my legs walking around. Kept really really still and my eyes on the road hoping to get off and pull over on the ramp and bail. Unfortunately it was a manual so no luck on sitting perfectly still. The thing tunneled down between my legs and I got hit between the man parts and bung. I thought my head was going to explode, but I didn't wreck the thing. Got out of the truck looking to kill the thing with my bare hands, but it flew as soon as I got out. I was walking pretty stiff for about three days.

My late Uncle Gene and I became believers in some types of natural medicine. When we were out in the field, he would carry an onion and tape along in the event of any kind of bee sting. Just cut a slice of onion and tape it to the sting. I can testify from experience that it worked.

I have always wondered how many single vehicle, fatality accidents are caused by stinging insects. The papers/police always report “Joe Blow ran off the road, struck a tree killing him.” Sometimes they blame speed or road conditions, or poor Joe had had a few beers.

But I wonder how many are really caused by wasps, or bees, or hornets.

Several years ago I rolled up to the scene of a crash on a two lane State Route and just as I exited my ‘troller a bee stung me in the arm. It really hurt but thankfully I had no allergic reaction. Just another day on the job..
