Anybody have an Xterra? I'm thinking about a new one and was wondering about the good points and the bad about them. I'll be using it for gen transportation with a little light off road now and then. How are they on the hwy? Real mpg ?

I bought a 2001 one for the kids. Never Again!!! Horrible ride with the short wheel base and the early ones had a boarload of problems with the distributor. Maybe they have fixed all the problems with the 2012 ones, but I wouldn't buy one. The kids like theirs mainly because they aren't paying for the maintenence. Make sure if you buy one that you change the timing belt as per reccomendations-I still got the teeth marks from THAT little escapade over Christmas 
I bought it cause I liked the way it looked and the color (bright yellow) and becuse I wanted to something nice for my kids. Screw that-they can buy their next one on their own-it's every man for himself now.
