I knew I had a four screw Model 29 and checked the number, not what your looking for at 171XXX, it's also a 6.5" barrel.

I recently started tracking four inch 5 screw 44 Magnum serials and ship dates.
I Dont have any S170xxx five screw four inchers in my small database so am guessing yours is a 4 screw frame ?
Reportedly 4 and 5 screw frames were shipping until mid 1957.
