I saw this image in a snub nose FB group, but my comments are never approved as I'm not a paying member (and thus... I cannot ask him for more details)

What kind of 19 does this look like, in terms of exact model + barrel length? It almost looks like... 3"? It also looks matte which is a bit confusing.

The only detail he said is someone asked if its a "SB 19?" and he said "i think so", lol

Thanks!model 19.jpg

At fist glance looked like a non P&R probably 19-5 or higher that was converted from 4" or 6" , (that barrel is a 2.5"),
The Sb frame and top strap step ping it as a conversion , probably bead blasted and refinished then.
Ps
They swapped the longer rear site leaf to help mate the frame cosmetically.
Stocks are aftermarket as well.
Pss,
When I zoom in looks almost like it had the barrel pin sanded flush, cant tell from the angle if its a recessed cylinder but if so might be a 19-4 frame / cylinder but the medium left side TM could be a 19-4 as left side Tm 19-4's exist.

The ejector rod is far too short for a 3 inch barrel, so it's a 2 1/2 inch and the frame's top strap contour does not look correct to have originally been a 2 1/2" barrel Model 19. I agree with Engine49guy, looks like a barrel swap and a refinish.

Hmmm.............all very interesting. Also a huge bummer, sounds like a large amount of effort.

Maybe it sounds better to just by a ladysmith, bead blast it, and be done with it.... if i wanted a similar aesthetic?

I think it's a round butt with square butt stocks, and the barrel is original. They don't fit them like they used to, and the MIM hammer and trigger make it a dash-7 or later.

The barrel to frame fitting on the 2-1/2" barrel has never been a smooth transition like you see on longer barrels. My M66-1 is about average.IMG_2618.jpg

The 4" Model 19/66 frame steps down to the barrel rib.
The snub 19/66/15 frame does not step down, the 2.5" barrel rib is thicker so is taller, also the fs ramp mates right against the frame thats why the snub rear site leaf goes all the way to the barrel so that it mates to the ramp.

If you mate a 4" or 6" frame to a 2.5" snub barrel the rib will be taller than the frame.
The 3" is different because the ramp doesnt mate to the frame.
