ANYBODY HERE TRY THE JACK DANIEL'S SINATRA SELECT??

Characteristic corn flavor to the whisky. Smooth and lingers at the back of the tongue. Not hot on the palate and has a long finish. The oils are pronounced with the addition of the cubes, need to let them melt a bit and let the temp rise a bit.

But will it get you tore up from the floor up?:D

I don't want to know how $200.00 whisky taste, I'm afraid I may like it!

My every/any day bourbons are W.L. Weller and a couple of the Evan Williams offerings.

Top shelf for me is Knob Creek Single Barrel 120.

Looking around for a "bargain" and maybe I'll spring for it. So far I've found it on sale for $155 delivered which certainly beats the $220 (inc tax) priced locally. Like the poster Cdog above, I'd almost hate to like it!

Sinatra Select? Sure, when I have Sinatra's money. What can I get for less than $10 a bottle?

Thunderbird and MD 20/20 come to mind. $200.00 a bottle because it has "Old Blue Eye's" name on it?? Glad I don't drink.

Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select

It's still pricey at Byron's Liquor Warehouse in Oklahoma City. You can find three bottles of it there for $149.00 each.

Thunder bird and ripple or boones farm wine. Boy that brings back the young and crazy years.

Try some good fresh home made cider from your local farm. Warm it up with a cinnamon stick and serve in a cup with some Jack Daniels. Put another log on the fire and enjoy. On a cold chilly it's this Apple jack that will warm you up.

Too much money for booze. Never did care for Frank Sinatra anyway.

I'm more in the "Lone Star Beer and Bob Wills Music" crowd. :)

Wild Turkey?

I prefer top drawer ($11 a bottle) Rum.

As for the JD Sinatra: Remember it's the same whiskey as the regular black label (actually as all JD except the new rye); same mash bill, distillation, filtration, aging etc.; they just select the barrel. I'm sure there are differences, but differences between $25 and $200? Hmm...

As for Pappy: A legend in danger of becoming a myth. I once was able to do a favor for a friend's business associate and in return found myself invited to a social function way above my usual socio-economic circles; in plain English, I got to hobnob with the rich. There I had the chance to drink Pappy. An excellent bourbon, but that's it. Worth the money, the hype, the waiting lists? Not so much.

This blog has a nice recipe for a substitute Pappy made from two iterations of Weller, from the same distillery that makes Pappy:

Saw the "Sinatra" bottle at the store and had to laugh. I certainly wouldn't pay that much for what clearly is an attempt to appeal to someone's sense of snobbery for a distinctive label. Regular JD #7 has been my go-to drink for 50 years and I guess if its been good enough all along it still is.
