Anyone actually use a Randall Knife

Having sold a few lately I know if you use one you lose quite a bit on value.

This is why I haven't owned one and never will. Just too many other quality pieces out there that do the same job just as well.

As with anything in life though, there are different grades and values to fit everyone's tastes. So I have no doubt there are many happy Randall knife owners/users.

I've been thinking of getting one now that I'm back in the combat arms business. In my USMC days I had an Ontario KA-BAR like everyone else, but wearing Army green some might frown on me carrying a Marine Corps blade.

The lead time listed on the website is FIVE YEARS so the gray market seems the only option.

Check out Ka-Bar"s Extreme fighting/utility knife ..... a modern take on the Marine Blade!

If you or anyone worries about the loss of value by a little use, the simple answer is to buy one already used and let that owner absorb the loss of value. I actually search for them where some fool tried to sharpen half way up the blade. I'll gladly pay half as much.

New 10-3 with Drop Point blade direct from Gary Clinton, ~7 months expectation :)

Life is too short and can quickly break off,
so I'll use it, I do not care about the loss of value :)
If we start from pure pragmatism, then I would have had enough
in my whole life a one Mora knife #1 or #2, as used Cody Lundin,
or one 5-6 inch Old Hickory from Ontario.

Ka-bar is a wonderful knife, I have a pair - one safe queen,
the other is used to the fullest.
Someday a general photo will be made.

I have a 10" Old Hickory butcher knife. That thing gets crazy sharp. My grandmother had one she used for most of her life. It had been sharpened so often the center part of the blade was recessed about half way back. But it was still razor sharp after a few passes across a stone. I'll never use mine that much but I use it a lot. I have much more expensive knives that are supposed to be the cat's meow but I prefer my "Granny knife" which is what I call it. The thing sharpens really fast and gets really, really sharp.

It did arrive last Fall.

Cool, congratulations!

Recently I went on a short trip. Lost the frame for the tent, I and my friends had to use flexible branches. There was still a lot of other work with a thicker and strong tree, but there was no time for photo shooting.
