Anyone buy a 2014 M&P 45 and have the new sear or trigger reset?

Last year the word here and on other forums was the 45s were going to get the new sears and trigger reset at the end of 2013. My original barely used Dec. 2013 M&P FS45 and the "new" barely used Dec. 2013 M&P FS45 that I just picked up doesn't have either upgrade.

I don't mind that neither have them since a polished striker block and hard sear is all I need. I'm curious though if anyone that bought a 2014 45 model has the factory upgrades present.

I would be interested to know that too. I have picked up three at gun shops recently, and the triggers were garbage on all of them. I'm really interested in the M&P 45, but as of now the Apex DCAEK would be a must if I bought one.

I really don't mind the trigger pull with an Apex sear and a DIY polish job on the striker block. Those two modifications make it plenty smooth for me and they're really quite accurate. More so than the 2 FS9s or 9c I had. I'm just wondering if anyone got one with the the new components or is S&W just ignoring the 45s?

The new factory sear in the other calibers seem to be almost a direct copy shape wise to the Apex hard sear. I can't see why they haven't changed those yet, even if they don't change the reset.

oh wow I haven't heard of this.... I'm looking to get a 45c, but if it has everything on it, I'll just get a new one

First post. Howdy folks.

I just purchased a new 45c. The test round is dated in Feb 2014. The trigger is poor and I just ordered the Apex DCAEK for the gun. It will be my primary carry weapon.

I bought a new FS 45 last month with a april 2014 test fire date. Trigger is actually "ok," (not like my 2013 9mm FS which has an acceptable trigger press, and lousy false reset common to the line.) My new 45 has the old mimed sear, and second gen trigger bar. But I find it works well. I'm still going to install the apex sear to reduce the 7 pound trigger pull...
Hopefully the 45c I ordered this week will have the "new" trigger so I can offer a comparison. :-)

My new 45c (4-14) has a gen 1 slide stop and a horrible factory pull. A DCAEK and poly AEK helped immensely, but I still would like to find a gen. 3 slide stop to firm up the reset - I'm used to the RAMs in my other M&Ps.

In the last 6 months I have bought a 4.5" and a 4" M&P 45. I read forums about trigger issues and hollow point feeding issues and a myriad of other problems on the forum... almost made me feel sick for buying 2 and trading my Springfield 1911 to get a 2nd M&P. I can't worry with all that stuff. I have over 1,000 round through the 4.5" and 300 in the 4".. every kind fo HP I had lying around. They both eat my hard cast lead round and flat nosed fare, as well as my 230 gr. XTP handloads and 185 gr.Nosler Custom hps both over varying amounts o Titegroup..NO problems.. and both ADORE Hornady Critical Duty 220 gr hollow points and the 185 GR Critical Defense. BOTH are very tight groups with the 220 grain hot dog.. much tighter than the 185 gr Criticfal Defense.. however inside 25 yards.. somebody is going to catch all of it! Don't jinx me now boys!

I bought a 45c in June and IIRC it was made in May, 2014. It has a very nice reset when compared with my older FS. My older brother was not impressed though since he shoots a lot of high end 1911 and Glock triggers that have been modified for the better. It is very subjective.

The two 45 compacts that I have bought this year, both with test fire dates in March 2014, have still got the old trigger, which has never been a problem for me. If I want to have a trigger pull like that of a 1911 I'll shoot a 1911.

I have a 45 mid, test fire date of Feb 2014. It has the old trigger/slide stop/sear. Other than the gritty feeling, the trigger is pretty good. I'll get the files out and sort that gritty feeling soon.

Any word when the change will be made? It would be nice to know as I am waiting........................

S&W apparently makes changes to the M&P line on a "rolling" basis, and without fanfare. I have seen posts that say this change or that change is or has been implemented, but I have yet to confirm that ANY change has been made so that the M&P will have a more positive reset.

Shooting to reset is a terrible practice and a bad idea (it has been covered ad nauseum in other threads), so I am not one who believes there is anything wrong with the existing less noticeable reset.

The most recent shipment of M&P 9 Pro Series Optic Ready pistols had absolutely no difference that was apparent to me in the trigger reset than a standard M&P 9 Full Size.

That said, I did note that accuracy on recent production 9mm, apparently since a rifling twist change, is really fantastic.

If anyone is in possession of engineering changes, dates implemented and similar information, such as presently exists for revolvers, I would really love to see it.

Personally, I don't like the idea of buying something only to find out that an unannounced big change is about to be made.

For me, being in CA. The fee for SSE is about the cost of a nice trigger job and parts. So if I can save the expense I will try. To add insult to injury, I only have to Jan 1 to pick one up. So for me, its a big deal. Also it should be more than just re-set. Am hoping its similar to the trigger on my new 9mm Shield. That would be great. Would like to avoid buying an APEX kit if possible.

I'll be sure to quit shooting to reset because you think it's a bad idea. Dogma much?

While I don't have an M&P 45, I do have numerous other M&P's. What Shawn said about the barrel and the new twist, I agree with. My 5" M&P Pro in 9mm has the old style twist rate. The husband's 5" M&P Pro in 9mm has the newer twist rate. We took them out. He shot both of them, with the same ammo at the same distance (25 yards). He also shot them from a rest. Everything was the same except the twist rates on the barrels. The grouping with his Pro (which has the newer twist rate) was noticeable tighter, than the grouping with my Pro. My Pro's grouping was pretty spread out. So there is a difference between the two.

At this point I'm betting it will be after they exhaust their current stock of parts. The 45s are not as popular as the 9/40s so I'll bet it'll happen randomly when someone posts about the new reset. This means more people need to go out and buy the awesome 45s so we can get the new parts sooner. ;)

Am sure your right. Yesterday I went ahead and started the process on a Glock 30s.
If I add it to my CCW I would want to leave the trigger stock.
And at this point we really do not know how this one might turn out.
Could be great, might not happen at all. No guarantees.
