I'm a newbee, and didn't find a thread on this so thought I'd ask...
Since the SD9VE is a replica of Glock 19, I was wondering if anyone has exchanged the S&W parts for Glock? For example: the trigger spring, or the slide return spring, front or rear sights. I was considering replacing my slide return spring, to better control recoil.
I was considering cerakoting the slide, so I'd need to replace the sights.

Thanks,

Ooops, didn't make myself clear.

Apex Tactical make very nice trigger parts for this model and I think a new Flat trigger coming out this year

Thanks Robert, I'm familiar with Apex springs. The spring & trigger mods were my first course of action. When I bought the Apex kit I didn't know how close to a Glock the SD?VE series is. I am curious about Interchangability of Glock OEM parts. $19.95 for Apex Kit vs $4.35 Glock Trigger spring. $29.95 for Stainless Captured spring kit, vs $5.95 Glock Slide return.

I know someone who has the Gen 3 Glock 19 recoil spring/rod assembly in their SD40VE. Perfect fit and costs less than one labeled for the SD. Same goes for the extended takedown lever. That's about where it ends. The SD isn't a replica of the 19. It a kind of an inspired by Glock model. Just like the Walther PPK and the Bersa 380 Thunder. They look almost identical, but definitely different pistols.

Oh yeah. You can get a 20# SS recoil spring/rod setup from NDZ on Amazon for $21.99 with free shipping.

Good info to know.

Tmatahead, Just FYI the SD9/sigma et al, have design similarities but it never was an "exact copy" they surely worked from the "G" examples, but only a couple of parts are actually interchangeable. The Guide Rod and some Springs are swap-able as is the previously mentioned Take Down Lever/claw and possibly a small internal part or two. But they are definitely different animals. I currently own a SD9ve and love it. It routinely out shoots guns costing twice as much. It's a great platform that has now come into it's own. It rewards practice and a steady hand with excellent groups and great confidence should it be needed for it's intended purpose, Self Defense. I installed the Apex Spring Kit, threw a Hogue Slip Grip on it and it's Done. I don't even bring up the "G" word when I talk about it, they are way past that. Good Luck and Good Shooting!

Parts are in.

I've installed Apex Spring kit in my SD40 & wife's SD9, we both think they are great. I installed a Apex trigger and will be removing it. It tears up my index finger, after 2 mags (30 rounds) I can't pull the trigger any longer. The bottom of the trigger pinches my finger against the guard.
I've replaced my Recoil spring with G22 model that is supposed to be 20-22#. I also installed NDZ Ext'd Slide Release Levers. While everything was apart I polished the sear pin, side of the Trigger Bar Assembly, and end where it meets the sear pin. Cheap replacement G19 sights were ordered from Midwest, as S&W OEMS are $160. We test fit the front, and had to polish the sides slightly. I've test fired the set up, will soon ship off the slide for cerakote.

I've ordered a G19 trigger spring, & recoil spring to drop in a friend's SD9. This is a test, to verify functionality. Both were cheaper through Glockinc, than after market sources. I will let you know how the trigger spring works out.
