had mine to the range yesday. the little popper fed hollow points , + p's , and of course ball ammo . it seemed to be more than accurate at 7 yds. and very reliable .... the glock trademark !
i would have to say , at this early point of ownership , i would much rather have this than the model 442 38 s&w i carried for many years .
it goes in the pocket of jeans just fine . this little gun is great & does not seem to have any reason for me not to embrace it !

I bought a Glock 43 last year, LEO price was to good to
pass up and I'd never owned a Glock. Can't say anything bad about it. Run's flawlessly with a variety of ball and jhp ammo, and very accurate. That being said I still stick to carrying my revolvers all the time, but wouldn't feel disadvantaged with the Glock. I just feel more comfortable with revolvers. A friend of mine carries his 43 all the time, has only good things to say about it.

I've got one. I don't have a lot of rounds through mine yet, little over
a hundred, but I don't see any real negatives about it so far. I think
it will prove to be one of Glock's most popular models in time. For CC
it's a lot of power for it's size and weight.

I now carry one every day as a back up to my duty glock 21.Off duty I carry it as back up to shield .Saying all that my last trip to El Paso I trusted the glock 43 enough to take it as my primary. In hundreds of rounds of several kinds of ammo.Neither my wife or I have had a problem.Just wish Glock would make a extended 8 rd mag for it.

I have one and love it - find it to be very easy to shoot and I love that I was able to reverse the mag release (lefty) on this small gun.

Have fired one. Was impressed with that compactness and trigger pull especially. Glock should sell a bundle of these.

Have both the the 43 and 42. Recently picked the 42 and fire regularly the 42. People say the 42 is not a great gun. For me it works great no problems and I am sure the 43 is as good or better.. My 43 is a Talo.

I just sold off my Kahr PM9 after buying the 43. Never cared for the poor fit of the Kahr mags to the gun. Had the 43 to the range yesterday for 90+ rounds & it was flawless. Very pleased with my first Glock.

I also have both the 43 and 42 and really like both of them.
The 42 was introduced first and had some reliability problems
that have been more or less dealt with by Glock, partly by
improvements to the magazines. I think both are great guns
but to be honest the 43 is more forgiving about ammo choice
than the 42, at least in my guns. My 42 needs good 95 gr FMJ
ammo to function reliably. Underpowered and or lightweight
bullet ammo will result in stovepipe jams. My 43 is more
forgiving and has been reliable with everything from some of
the cheap downloaded 115 gr FMJ sold today to +P domestic
ammo and some pretty hot 124 gr imported stuff. My only
real complaint about my 42 is that it is so light and easy to
carry that I usually have in my pocket instead of the 43 that
I know has much more power.

I had a 43 and fired several hundred rounds through it. It processed all ammo perfectly, but I found it a little too snappy for me. My 42 is so easy to carry and so accurate that I like it better than the 43. My son got the 43 and loves it. I found that the 42 functions just fine as long as the ammo has a velocity over 900fps.

I've got to stick with the 42 and hardball. We're about to get concealed carry at colleges and universities here in Georgia, and I am going to have carry deep concealed. No problem in the Winter when wearing a coat. Big problem in the Summer when it hits 100 degrees here. Both the LCP Custom and the Glock 42 go really out-of-sight in the pocket. Hardball provides dependability in both guns that you may not get with all the fancy bullets out there. WWII was fought with hardball and 65 million people died. So, I guess it will have to do.

I remain convinced that hardball is the way to go in the .380 and
.32 ACP. The number one requirement of SD ammo is reliability. CC
people often get caught up in the endless debate over bullet
performance and forget what really matters to a perp is getting away
with a crime or getting shot period. It's a sure bet that when a perp is
planning a robbery, mugging, rape or whatever taking a bullet or three
to his heart-lung area isn't part of the plan. Functional reliability of the
gun that is ALWAYS with you is number one.

I carry flat-pt fmj in my Kel-Tec using your reasoning. The barrel is barely longer than the chambered round, so I'm not all that certain that a JHP will expand.

More on-topic- I've shot a Glock 42 a good bit, and it works well for me, but a little too large for it's intended purpose. The 43 seems to be a better idea, provided it works well for the user. I was always curious as to why they chose to enter the .380 arena, when the 9mm version was so close behind. Other than the obvious answer, which is that folks who bought the 42 would buy the 43 too!

Have carried a 43 IWB everyday for a month.
First carry permit 31 years ago.
Back then, "if isn't a 1911 it is *&#%".
Shoot every week with my original instructor.
He now carries plastic regularly.

You're probably right, good marketing strategy on Glock's
part. All I know is what I've read and there was a pent up
demand for a .380 and a single stack compact 9mm from
potential buyers. The 43 is such a great pistol that holding
it back had to help sales of the 42. I read in one magazine
article that Glock sold 200,000 42s the first year they were
on the market. The dealer that I bought my 43 from told me
that his sales of the 42 had been brisk but had slowed down
after the 43 came out. Both are great pistols. The 42 seems
large when compared to the current crop of micro .380s but
it's light and compact compared to old classics like the Colt
1908 .380.

I picked up a 43 last summer but was really pleased with my Shield so was in no hurry to get my required break-in rounds through it before carry.

I do believe the Shield is a little easier to shoot out of the two.

However had some feeding issues with the Shield recently and the 43 is now ready to go so have ordered a N82 Tactical holster for it and can't wait for it to come in. The 43 has been 100% reliable out of the box and easy to shoot.

Still slip my 642 in my pocket on many days though.

I picked one up a couple of months ago and have never looked back. It replaced a Sig 938 as my EDC. I fired various weights of ball & PD with Zero FTF/FTE. The accuracy is much better than expected. I was actually able to bust some clays on th Burm @ 60 yds. I wish I could say that I was able to do so consistently, but I did have multiple hits.

I recently dressed her up with Trijicon HD Night Sights and BooDad's grip tape. Still looking for the right holster.

Better picture of the sights. They are the same type as the TALO model with a yellow front sight vice orange.
